I want to get it gutted but don't know where can i get the job done? Is that a hard job or i can just get it done by any auto shop anywhere.
Thx
I don't have my catz done yet, but it is prolly the #1 thing to do while my car is put up for the winter, i just hav'nt got around to doing it and being the do-it-yourself'er that I am I well give it a shot.
I'm gonna add a few questions to this thread that someone who went through this may be able to answer.
Thread on 3sI with some info (http://www.3si.org/portal/forums/showthread.php?threadid=54964)
is the front precat & down pipe hard to get off, I don't really think it is but how do the bolts usually go, ar they commonly rusted or do they break off? (BTW I have a southern US car)
I have read that most ppl gut the rear pre cat with it left on the car, really how hard is it to remove this part is it really not worth the hassle?
Will I be able to do this with my car on jackstands? do ya think there will be a lot of force needed to remove the bolts n'shit? that may turn me in to a pancake by the car falling off the jackstands?(ofcourse I will have backup catchers:D )
That's all I can think of now,
Thanks
Mike

Its a real pain in the ass. The bolts almost seem to weld themselves together, take it to a shop to have them loosen the bolts. I had to do the front precat on the car as well as the rear. Its hard to work under the car getting a good angle to apply enough force to take out chunks of cat with a chizzle or drill. You will be covered in little peices of metal, so clean up realy well or it gets into everything.
Where do you live?
i'm in Ottawa and I can do it all for you!
