Hi all,

I'm in Calgary searching for a Stealth / 3kGT. One has come up at a dealer in Toronto and I'm wondering if anyone might be in that area and be motivated to help out a fellow member by taking a look at it. If so, please email me at pops@shaw.ca. Thanks!

I spend time on the www.3si.org site as well and sure appreciate being able to converse with folks of similar interests. Hopefully this site will only grow in membership. I must say it isn't an easy site to find. Perhaps a link to it on the www.3si.org site if not already? Maybe it's just me .... ;)

Welcome to the board!

Most of our members are from th toronto area, so I'm sure someone will help you out.;)

And i do agree that this forum is too hard to find...I talked to alan from 3si about getting a sticky on his forum, but he didn't seem very enthusiastic, so I just put the address in in my sig.

I'm also going to mass message the people on this board who have memberships there to put it in their sig. So it's more noticable...But I'll keep trying to convince alan for a sticky or a link somewhere.

once again welcome to the board!:)

Thought I might run across you Canuk guys over here - hello again! Haven't given up on importing - just checkin' all my leads. A 3kGT is still my pref but I have never written off Stealths. Actually have a couple of US cars I'm waiting for other friends to check out for me. We'll see where fate takes me! I do have another question for you though. Do I remember correctly that you drove your car home from the south? I was wondering how you license and insure the car for the drive home?

I insured the car under my current policy here, all I gave the ins guy was the serial #, I told him what I was doing

and as for the LIC part, paid florida taxes onn the car and that gave me 30 day temp tags, it was a little cardboard licence plate

If I had my time back I would have not done that, I would of risked it(i'm tough, lol) and stuck a Newfie plate on it and drove home, I actually considered that, I had 3 plates with meon the trip the newf one from my mazda, a old expired New brunswick plate and a ontario truck (the black ones) plate, neva dit it though

It wasn't so bad I only paid taxes on $5000, dealer guy was pretty good, 5 geez not bad for a 94 VR-4(in 2001):D

Could you claim back the sales taxes as an out of state purchaser as you can between provinces?

Hey man,

Welcome aboard, I am in the Toronto area and I just bought my rt/tt on Saturday (still haven't taken delivery yet though, as it is being safetied), and I have looked a few others, so there may be a possibilty I have checked it out.

Oh, and as a word of caution. If the is from Eclipse Auto don't touch it. It is probably a rebuilt wreck. They have a yellow 93rt/tt with a 2g front conversion that was a rebuilt wreck, and have a rep of that. How do I know, well I went in and checked it out, and put a down payment on the yellow rt/tt. I asked if it had been in a wreck and he said "Not to his knowledge", so I put a deposit on it. Well, I did a carfax on it anyway, and found out it was wrote off 5 years ago, and recently rebuilt. Needless to say, my deposit was returned.

Anyway, good luck.

I've found myself some help to check out the car. Thanks to all those who offered their assistance. If I can return the gesture from Calgary just let me know!
