I was wondering how many people out there are from B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba?? Enough of us to get together some weekend and burn a few cluthces?

I don't know that many of the western members here, they don't visit very often. There are many on 3si that just have to be directed here... Which I will be doing shortly prolly tommorrow.
So you should be expecting some more people. But u can help out and call ur buddies over too make things easier:D

Alberta (calgary) here. And I can find about 4 other guys also... We had a small gathering up in Innisfail last year.

The western people don't like to come visit here for some reason, lol. I think maybe it's 'cause it was ontario board before, they don't like the idea, i duno.

We're slowly learning.....just stubborn in our ways. All us Alberta guys post on one thread on 3si called "Enough guys for an Alberta gathering.." Either that or its because we have our own Alberta 3S page thanks to W3apon. :D :D :D

haha. it was put up as a joke when we found out there was an ontario board. They asked us to join, and we said.....what if we want to make our own. I'll see if I can find the link on 3si.

The vancouver people are weary too, lol, so are the manitoba folks. Ah well, lol. This board is here and will be here for a while.

Nah, us MB folks are just lazy. :D We have a seperate thread on 3/S we use for posting, old habit. I'm slowly moving over to this board. I'm sure as things pick up (summer) the rest of us will move over.

As for a meet, there is about 1/2 dozen to a dozen of us here that keep in contact. I'm sure at least a few would come out if it wasn't too far.

(PS: I've waited for 5 years for a Canadian 3/S board. It's my only hope of eventually finding a VR4 without having to import, LOL).

Ok, lets get this rolling. I think a western gathering is a good idea.

Lets start with a location, and then work on dates later.

Where would work best for everyone? Some place fairly central.


Someone go post a link on the respective "thread(s)" from each province on 3si. To let them know more about it, and get their opinions.

How bout tying it in with W3apon's idea of a road course track day? That would make for one helluva good weekend! Course it would have to be in Calgary.....:thumbup:

The track day might be too soon to organize a big gathering.
I just email you the info about it. The track day is on April 26th. If we had enough people interested we could book our own track day?

Cool finally found this post...OK I'm in. I vote Innisfail again. :)

Seriously though I think Calgary is a good central place between Winnipeg and BC.
We can book a day of racing at RaceCity, do a touring run to Banff, maybe get sponsored with some prizes and stuff from local tuner shops. memystealthani seems to know the connections for the tuners.
Probably sometime late May or early June ?
What do you all think?

Sounds good to me. I know a few guys that work at race city as well. So I could check on a track day. And if we do decide on this I'll ask around at the local tuner shops, etc. There are quite a few tuner shops in Calgary, for those who weren't aware.
I think June would be better. So far, the Sport Compact car cup is in the middle of May in Edmonton, Sport Compact Nights are in July, and Import Showoff is in August. So a June even would fill in the calendar nicely.

What do all you people outside of Alberta think? Do we want to make this a one day event, or a whole weekend out of it..?

And hey whats up with the road course day memystealthandi? Whats it all about? Is excessive speed involved? Is clutch burning encouraged? Will ones hair be set on fire? talk to me

Yes, excessive speed, car abuse, burnt rubber, and the whole 9 yards. Clutch burning...leave that to me, and my 3.2 sec 60ft...lol. I'll never live that down if I keep mentioning it. :bigup: Yes, the clutch was dead.

I think Calgary is pretty central, but I'd be willing to goto Kelowna in the summer time :)
Lets get a sign up list for Calgary and go from there.
Maybe work on some sponsorship stuff, places to stay, etc...

Another option would be to combine out gathering with one of the other shows...like Sport Compact nights, etc. And enter a bunch of stealths in the show. How's about that idea?

No man thats sounds good....actually i really like that idea....i ve never seen much of the import scene in Calg.....we are somewhat sheltered up here in the Deer:)
