How's it going people? Im a new member of Canda 3si. Im the guy who bought the Black 91' Stealth RT/TT off of 'memystealthandi' back in November. Im just getting ready to finally get it insured and back on the road, and am hoping this site will help keep me up to date with any Stealth gatherings going on around Calgary this sumer! A bit about me: I like cars, sterios, and wasting money on either of them! (If you can even call it "wasting" money). But most importantly about me -> not a CIVIC fan!
Anyways, enough about me, lets talk about cars!

Right on and welcome!
I joined in January and have learnt a pile here. Great bunch with some excellent know-how about our cars - and no fear when it comes to bustin' wrenches. :D

Welcome aboard!!! I know that car almost as well as my own. lol!!! It'll be good to see it back on the road again.
Just a note, since I noticed you posted a question in the Technical Info/Tips; post any questions you might have in the 3000GT/Stealth or General forums. The Technical section is for single entries describing a fix or a tip for solving a particular problem.
I look forward to seeing you out when the Alberta boys get together this summer.

Hey man, glad you found the site. This forum and 3si.org are great resources. Have fun with the car, sounds like you have big plans for it.
Damn I miss that car...
(p.s. Snortin93 is the one with the Tantrums on his car now, I suggest you bug him daily via PM, etc. to try and get him to sell them to you.....just kidding....I can't say that, b/c he is holding my boost gauge hostage.)

-ya, I've got big plans - I never said I had any money to back them up tho :( I'm counting pennies for next months rent after I pay for insurance... I wish I wasn't 18 anymore.
(Ill still take out a loan for those tantrums if I have to tho! )

Im looking at nearly twice that for 6 months in BC! < - - A good price compared to the quote I got for a year of Alberta insurance... 3/4 the price of what I paid for the car.. nearly a 5 didget number

Does anyone else out ther pay less than me or am I the luckiest of the bunch??

Alberta is rough on and males under 21.. under 25 isnt much better either i dont think. My quotes are for $1000 deductables too, and Ive never been in an accident or had a ticket... I cant imagine what people my age with tickets must have to pay

I pay about $900 FULL COVERAGE with 2 mill liability on a 2004 MINI.
For the coverage on my stealth I paid about $700/yr.
26 y.o, clean driving record, 8 star rating, and an occupational discount (engineering).
Those were with $250 deductibles.

My broker is fleming insurance, I'm insured through ING.
I believe ING will only take drivers over 25? with a clean driving record. They offer huge discounts if you have a clean rating, and for an extra $59 a year if you do get into an accident your insurance rate is guaranteed not to increase.
Unfortunately my wife has 2 speeding tickets. So if we switch her on to the same insurance provider my rates will go up.
Insurance rates for young drivers are insane right now. The highest mine ever was was $3000 when I was 18 on my 1988 Celica.

Sometimes it's nice being the old grey-beard. The difference in my insurance vs. 2FAST4U will buy me a new set of tires AND new turbo's every year!
It is scary what they're charging, even old farts like myself!

There is no reason anyone should have to pay like 7 grand for 1 year of insurance...madness. :flaming:
Damn!! I'm surprised Snortin's insurance is so cheap...even with that senior citizen' s surcharge.;)

Finally... someone else who's getting ripped off by the insurance companies. All the more that me and 'Domesticwildric' cherish the time we spend driving out cars though... everyone else takes if for granted compared to us.
I turn 21 here in may so I went shopping for insurance today accually and instead of the 379$ per month I pay now If I switch my collision deductable from 1000$ to 2000$ and with me turning 21 I will be paying 180$ per month!!!! CAN'T WAIT:flaming:
