Security Code for OEM Radio

Hello Everyone,


I recently bought an OEM upgrade headunit for my car...The service guy at the Mitz dealership here in town was kind enough to give me the code for it....Question is : has anyone had to enter a code to get there radio back up again..if so can someone explain the procedure to me...I've got a code with a 7 in it and I don't see a 7 anywhere on this unit...hope someone can help I really want this baby in my car....edit....its got the graphic display like the a/c unit...ahhhyaya I can't wait....thanks in advance..

If it's anything like the 94+ it should just cycle through the numbers shouldn't it? :confused:

I took mine out but from what I remember just pushing the various buttons got them to cycle though the numbers. Not sure if it's the same deck in there though.

press radio preset button 0ne 4 times, press preset button two 6 times, press preset button three 6 times press preset button four no tomes(leave alone), then bress buton TAPE and that clears the anti theft

yours should be te same way, but with most likely a different number, and if you dont have the # call a dealership with a serial # of your car and you should be ble to get your security number!!!

BigBoi - See the attached pic...this is my headunit....I don't think I have a tape function button...what do you think ??? would I press PROG or CD or RADIO FM/AM....

wow that things massivE!!! a guy at my work has the same one on a 94' stealth. i don't him tho, i just peered in his window in the parking lot.

The guy I bought it from ( on 3si ) told me it came out of
a '93 VR4....but the wiring harness I had to buy in order
to mate it with my 92 R/T says '94-96.....
Does anyone know which button I have to press after I have
entered the security code into the head unit....Remember
I only have 3 tries before this thing locks me out....It just occured to me that the unit may have been sold to me already locked...
geeze I hope not...Leaving my car in ACC mode in this temp..will probably drain it....anyone??????

well if i see the guy get into his car someday ill ask him if he knows...
also theres another stealth in the parking lot that's Automatic i HATE auto stealths!!!
i guess the dude doesnt work weekends cause i dont see his car out there today.

Of course the unit was in the completely locked postion when I put power to it...had to wait a hour before it went back into code mode.....Put the code in and managed by trial and error to figure out the button that had to be pressed once I keyed in the code....Wheeuuuu!!!!!thanks guys...managed to get it on the first try....Let's just say of all the OEM to come out of Mitsubishi's for the 3si..this has to be the cat's meow...Very impressed
with this unit....If you ever want to replace your OEM with the next generation this is one .... Can't explain the sound and light show that came out of this thing....Can't keep my eyes on the road long enough to steal another look....see pic...Graphic display and eq dancin' all over the place...mannnnn...sometime I'll take a pic of it in the car....Thanks to everyone who gave me a hand...

Now onto the next task....anyone have a set of 17" Stealth Rims
they're looking to sell over the next little while...I maybe interested in they're in good shape...

black. the rims are crome and i still have the black caps in the middle too. the tires on the rims were Yokohama 245/45ZR17 A520's. Thats what i use on my stealth too!
