View Full Version : tt kit or S/C kit for NA
I would like to know everyones opinion on which is better, (the pro's and con's). a tt kit or a S/C kit for an N/A DOHC. I can see getting more power out of the tt kit although from what I have read they cost a lot more than an S/c kit, also there are the differences between turbo and S/C. What do you guys think.
well now that should cause quite a debate.
P.S. here's another funny pic, they just keep on coming...
I really have no knowledge or experience:) in this particular ara, but I'll give my 2 coppers(aka pennies):D
I would assume the TT would be easier to preform because TT setup is mass produced for a variation of this motor, ie VR-4 & R/T tt lol
having that parts should be easier/cheaper to come by and the same for electronics.
another thing is that the TT swap has been done by a good few ppl so support and questions would be prolly easier found.
I don't know how a bolt upt tt setup will work on the N/A motor with its higher compression, but it could be easier to do a swap with a motor from a VR-4/R/T tt.

I seriously gave an long tought about this and I found that truly the cost of a S/C only is 3900$ US. That is the lowest I have never seen it not considering the cost of the install that is 6000$ canadian. You will need an LSD if you push this power and that is another 1000$US. I would get a TT instead sincerly.
My car has a sentimental value now and I wouldn't get rid of it over a TT now that is another problem =) I went with another solution for speed instead. Alot of people don't really like it but nitrous is pretty good also. Tuned properly and a couple of things supplemental can give you up to 110hp boost.
It's all you want to do altough :)
Umm we lost some messages here funny.
yeah there was an upgrade that took place and some how fuck some shit up...
Shit !!!!
stu do I have to post my coment again?
I remember your comment. Just wanted to ask you what do you think it would cost to get a TT setup done. Keeping the same motor compression or not etc... that was my post that vaporated
you should lower your compression if you go turbo...
Regardless of what you’re going to use, you should change your pistons for forge one’s.
So is you’re going to TT, you need to lower the compression to about 8.5 to 1.
You should be able to find a not to expensive set-up, since every one is upgrading their stock set-up.
You al so check in to a J-spec motor, they come complete, motor, intake plenum, turbo, exhaust (DP), tranny/T-case (you can sell them) and they have low mileages on them.
They come with everything that could be interesting :)
Check with Odasa in Montreal for a J-spec!
I think I better get the cash first than to start searching for everything needed for this. No money no fun :(
Sory - it's called Osaka!
