I am looking into getting a 95 stealth TT, and i came across this website when i was searching into some of the stuff i might be able to do to it. I have read some of the posts and it looks like you guys are quite
Stealth/3000gt enthusiats.

Welcome to the board Rob.
As far as us being enthusiasts goes... once you buy one, you will see. ;)
As far as some of the stuff you might be able to do to it goes... make sure transfer case rebuild, engine rebuild, expensive upgrades and limited selection of fitting aftermarket rims is on your list.

Dont let me scare you tho.. i think I might almost have a reputation on this board for being a complainer about the damn costs etc. :o

Its a sweet car tho... I guess that goes without saying.

I highly recommend a Stealth if you have tons of extra cash and time...

nahhh I'm kidding- I bought mine just before the May long weekend this year (with 52000km on it at the time- about 62000 now:D ) and I love it- the only problem is trying to leave it parked...it begs to be driven.

And whenever I walk past it on the way to the mailbox, I seem to stare at it a little too long...

and you tend to get looks from people normally reserved for supercars- it's suprising how many people stare and rubberneck as you go by...
welcome and let's see pics when you get one;)

for every guys like 2fast... there are plenty with an opposite view... i am on my 2nd Stealth TT..... My first one i put on 170k kms and the ONLY thing that i had to fix on it was the output shaft <1000k..... not bad if you ask me.... so far on my 95, not a thing :) (knock knock)

best car I ve ever own3d hands down.....

I forgot one thing that's starting to bug me about my Stealth- the fact that every dickhead with a pickup/sunfire/neon/whatever thinks their vehicle is faster than a stealth r/t tt and has to try to race you off the lights...

(and I'm not one of those people who can just let them go either;) )

okay i have only test driven the stealth (nicely) but from what i can tell it should be faster than those other cars without even trying ? with the exeption of the modified other vehicles.

You tested a Stealth TT? You should be able to beat just about any car thats stock with it except for cars like Camaros, Trans-am, and Corvettes.. but those all are V8's.

I haven't had any trouble with those either (or mustang gt's for that matter- I almost felt sorry for a guy with an '05 GT...)
---edit- well, I haven't raced any 'vettes yet---

and Rob, yes it IS faster than those without even trying- that's the problem:D
since noone knows about these cars, I can't just let them go on me and have them think they're faster- suckas gots to learn:p

well if the 05 GT's are 300hp then the stealths should just be barely ahead, with 320 on the newish one's and 300 on the older ones right? and i was reading at some website, that to put it up to 400 only requires a down pipe and a cold air intake. is that true? that just seems like really easy horsepower. anyways just wondering.

add a boost controller, gutted cats and ya your in the ballpark...but remember...that 400 is at the crank..not the wheels... as great as AWD is, there substantially more drivetrain power loss:mad:

ah okay that makes more sense.

and hp numbers aren't everything- I had a 400 hp 340 Duster that my Stealth would annihilate...like most of the older high horsepower cars...

I was like you Steve and gave those damn bow-ties too much credit.
I raced a stock Camaro SS with the ram air hood and thought I was in for big trouble. I was suprised how I got him out of the hole by a good 2.5 car lengths and had to let off in mid third to let him catch up.
Next lights he pulled up, shrugged and babied it the rest of the time we were on the street. :p
I knew he spun in first but I thought he would be closing on me by mid third.???

Remember watching the LS1 camaros at Cayuga running 14.1-14.5? They dont have too much right out of the box, its the Potential that makes them scary. :(

And the 4.6 stang is even slower.

New Stang would beat a stock stealth. 13.6 right off the showroom floor :o

Rob: Here are some pictures of the Stealth/3000GT yearly gathering that some of us went to. If you can go through these and not start checking autotrader.ca as soon as you are done, you are crazy :)

Tell me about it. I waited all winter to drive my car with its rebuilt engine, only to drive it for 3 weeks before it broke down again. $2000 in repairs and $3000 in upgrades.. now Im waiting until spring again! Somehow tho, this car makes it worth it.
..Either way, I hope you and me both have better luck with our new cars than what Ive had in the past.

fair enough lol - mine had 52000km on it in May when I bought it, has over 62000 now...hopefully I won't log the miles like that every year...too much fun to drive though.
