Hello all, bought my 91 Stealth TT in june and have been driving it as is since then. it came with a boost controller, turbo timer, and a custom exaust ( straight pipe, no muffler no cat)...

driving it as is was good and all up untill about 3 weeks ago, when we got our first snow fall, and I had a small incident with a lightpost... the damage estimate is about $2500 and I had to buy a new set of rims since one of the stock ones was damaged when going over the curb . I have since decided to definatly park it / do repairs and upgrades during the winter.

The problem is I do not yet know much about these cars and do not know what my main priorities should be , nor where would be the ideal place to get them done. I want to do ZIP to the body ( other than the repairs from the post incident) because I love the way it looks stock. But i would like to slowly do some upgrades under the hood.

I am basically going to be working with about $2500-$3000 for car upgrades over the winter , any input on what I should do with that cash would be Greatly appreciated.

PS. is there any kind of edmonton 3S meetings or anything?

I'm sure you'll get lots of great suggestions here from the TT owners on how and where to spend your money. :D

At this point, I'd just like to take the opportunity to welcome you to the board!

welcome!
the light post deal didnt sound too fun, but at least its a good excuse for some new rims.

what mods depends on what you want from the car. with 3g id be tempted to skip all the small mods (sounds like youre bpu anyway) and just jump right into turbos/injectors/fuel controller. 3g might be tight, but should be doable. guess it will depend on whether or not youre paying for labour too.
a search of 3si.org or canada3si.org will yield a zillion mod options.

there are a good number of edmonton members, but i dunno if they meet up in the winter ... ill let them chime in on that.

We don't really have any meets in the winter due to everyone pretty much parks their cars here. I live on the north side of edmonton so feel free to stop by and I could show you my cars, and my mods and see if that helps you decide which direction you would like to go with your mods. I also know a few shops around here that are pretty good to get the odd preformance part from.

thanks for the welcomes :)

Would love to stop by and see you're cars sometime, but it will have to wait a week or so, just sent 2 vehicles into the body shops today. the stealth and my dad's grand-am; so I am pretty much vehicle-less for a week or untill they get fixed. other than my grubby work truck, which is not going to be going anywhere but to work :P .

Another question of mine is ; is there anybody around who knows the mechanics of the 3S really well? I would love to have someone go over my car, and show me what needs to be done to keep it in tip top running condition. obviously i could go to any joe blow mechanic and he could point things out, but someone who knows the car better is without a doubt going to know what needs upkeep and what needs to be replaced soon.
