Yup, fired right up! Oil pressure, timing, coolant flow, all good. Idles and runs great...for a 1g!:p
Lifter tick is atrocious, sounds like f'in diesel! Time for some 3g's.
Got that horrible and common part-throttle stumble until she is well warmed up. I've logged this problem before and it's hard to tell what comes first. I'm going to try being selective with the parameters to see if I can improve the resolution. Try some simple fixes also like throttle cable adjust and MAF swap.
Other than that it works great. The downpipe made a noticeable difference in spool and sound. Ass dyno...maybe...It's been so long and I havent done any WOT pulls yet.
Got a little more cleanup on the bay then I'll post some pics. Where can i get just the K&N, without the bracket?
BTW, Steve that wood spade bit works great on the precat. Just roughed it up with a chisel and in 15 min had that thing clear...even some mouse sized chunks! The hockey puck clamps also work great...I'm suprized the DSM guys haven't caught on to this.

Glad to hear that you've got the beast running!!! There's a group buy on 3Si for 3rd gen lifters for something like $114 USD, so I'd check that one out. http://www.3si.org/forum/showthread.php?t=316191
As for the stumble, I don't know if this is anything related, but it might be something worth looking into. I'll see if I can find a link to the original thread on 3Si, but it seems to have fixed my stumble when coming off part-throttle. Basically there's a spring-loaded unit attached to the throttle body, towards the firewall that's supposed to stop the immediate shut-off of gas to the TB, but as the cars age, it doesn't do it's job any more and makes things worse. I took mine off when I did the vacuum reduction/EGR block-offs and it certainly didn't hurt anything.

Yeah I'm suspicious of that guy, thats why I was thinking of tightening the throttle cable. I think it's a diaphram dambener to cushion the throttle plate closing. When the engine bay warms it moves more free.....think?
On a lighter note I got my new valve cover. OEM black wrinkle:o I'm trying for a minimulist/stockish black look:cool: Got a real nice set of plug wires...Taylor Thundervolt 8.2, supposed to be 50ohms/foot. I'll let you know how they behave once I do a few pulls.
The schedule is out for Solo1(Little more progressive than jumping into wheel to wheel) at Race City. Starting with the school the last weekend in April and the first race the next weekend.
I've now got a shitload of parts to install on the Talon including but not exclusively: Built motor and head with the works, JIC suspension, Polk cromoly front control arms, DSS rear toe eliminators, Ingalls rear camber adjust control arms, Centerforce Stage 4 clutch, Autopower roll cage, and on and on. Yup I'm broke and still don't have brakes and car hauler!
Still got the Stealth though!:)

before you go dropping cash on 3g lifters.. i DARE you to try my remedy for loud lifters....
STOCK OEM Oil filter from the Mitsu dealership, and Mobil-1 5W-30 oil.
I used to have unreal lifter tick until I came across that combo...
2 3S's and ZERO lifter tick.
I promise you that will fix the ticking.......

Any more info on this? Ive had that problem for a while. assumed it was work motormounts....I thought my mounts were going/gone too. It felt like I was getting rear-ended when I let off the gas on part throttle. I still haven't found the link, but I'll keep looking.
