I have a 1998 3000GT with a auto tranny, and need to find someone to do the tranny swap to a 5 speed manual. I have someone selling me all of the required parts, I just need to find someone hopefully not too far away that is capable of such a project. If anyone here knows anyone preferably in Ontario that could do this, please let me know!
Thanks,
speedfreaksteve
Marc (fou) is in Gatineau, 5 minutes from ottawa :D . He works on our cars.

Yep , I can lend a hand if you would like. If you can wait till it gets a little warmer it would be best, my garage is cold and bare hands on metal tools and parts get cold fast. Or if you have a heater or something that would be good for now.
Cold sux ass, rent a kerosene or propane heater sure, that can't be too much, lol

Sounds like a big job.
It just got me thinking.... There is a ton of mechanical work in that, but you will also stupid little things too, like having to install the clutch pedal. Are the gas and brake pedal in the same location on an auto, or are they more centralized because there doesnt need to be room for a 3rd pedal?...
Wow, good luck with the conversion.
Going 6 speed i guess right? Grrrrr.... (jealous)
nope he's going 5 speed, it's at the top in his first post.
5 speed is better.:D

No, don't get too excited. You can't get a 6 speed for my car, only for the AWD ones.
I don't believe that the gas and brake pedal are in a different position in an ATX, when I drive I usually rest my left foot stretched out beside the brake pedal, where the clutch pedal should be.
Anyone here know where I can find some of the parts I'll need?

Thanks CrazyKid. I am considering getting Fou to do it. Maybe we could get it done fast if we all were working on it at once some weekend.
It is damn cold out, I was doing an oil change outside yestereday in my driveway. Temperature dropped fast. It was 1C when I started, and about -8C when I was done. I was going to do my testpipe while the car was jacked up, but my fingers were froze, and I think my catalytic bolts are stripped/rusted pretty bad.
I should be able to do the job in one weekend!
My garage is heated, there’s a pit, chain block on rail, sand blaster, arc welder, mig welder, compressor/air tools and lost of hand tools. I should be ok with you as a helper.
I pm you with a parts place!
