I have had my 1994 Dodge Stealth RT for just over 5 years now. I bought the car when it had approx. 15k km's on it, now it has approx. 50k km's. I drive it here in Toronto only from May to October, then store it for the remaining months of the year. I usually put approx. 6k km's on it a year. During the last 5 years I've had it I haven't done much in the way of maintenance. Usually I just change my oil, air filter and rotate my tires every May and that is it for Maintenance for the year other then checking my fluid levels on a regular basis. As well I recently put new slotted/dimpled rotors on and Axxis brake pads. Now what I was wondering is does anyone have any advice as to what I should do before putting my car on the road this May that might help prolong the life of my car. Any suggestions whould be greatly appreciated...thanks!
You could change the fluids, tranny gear oil, brake fluid, engine coolant. You can also inspect the CV axle boots to look for dry rot or cracks or something, a new fuel filter would be good.
I dunno if anything is necessary to be done with such so low mileage but you could look into it!!! those services shouldn't be too expoensive either and maybe you can get help from local 3/S owners if ya wanna go the Do It Yourself route:D which is allways fun!!!!
Good Luck
Mike
What BigBoi said!!
Purging your injectors and/or running high octane gas or octane boost would be a good idea. That's about all i can think of adding on top of what bigboi said. I know when i left my car untouched for 4 months, when i turned it on and drove it, and ran like ass the first two tanks of gas. Right now it's doing ALOT better, though i don't know if it's completely better since i haven't driven it in a week.
