View Full Version : Side Firing Exhaust

I've always wondered if a side firing exhaust system like the one on the Viper or Z06 could be fitted to our cars? Does anyone know if this is possible? It doesn't look like there's much room around the underbody to get it in place, but maybe around a 90 degree bend at the wheel well or something, and then back to I figure the back of the sideskirt? Think it's doable? I'd need to cut the back of the sideskirt and put some kind of heat resistant replacement there, like a composite. I'm thinking of asking Noyz Boyz out over here to try to figure it out. Anyone got any ideas? I want a unique exhaust, and no 3S has one of these...
I dunno if it will look right, I guess i don't have much of an imigination, lol
anywho I think dual outs on the back of a VR-4 is baaadass, lol

How about shooting out of the fake intakes in front of the rear wheels?....
hey, in brainstorming, my teacher told me there are no bad ideas!

Actually, I think those fake intakes are real intakes. Don't they help cool the rear brakes (not that you really need it)? I wonder how it would look? Unfortunately, my car has no intake holes on the side, so I won't be able to find out. The 2g Stealth has a decidedly understated look with solid sideskirts. That's why I think it'd look good on one...since there's nothing back there it could have an exhaust tip and look pretty good...
The space down there is pretty bad though. It doesn't look like there's any place to put the pipe to get it to the side location. The underbody comes down pretty much all the way. I'm thinking too of maybe doing a regular dual system with 2 dual n1 style mufflers for a way more badass looking, but still quad-tipped exhaust system. Anyone know where to get a nice dual muffler like the apex dual n1? Here's a picture:

2 of those would look pretty serious I think. I'm still going to look into the side firing idea though.
there is not a hech of a lot of room on the righs side because of the tanl filler pipe! There's loads of room on the lft side tho!
