I think the mileage is making mine tired, and it probably is due anyways as a precaution. I heard its a lot harder than the old standard pull off the oil pump and take it out procedure. Any tips?

Too many...170, 000 miles....whatever that is in kms.
Could probably uyse a rebuild, but I want to post pone it so the oil pump is like an insurance policy.
I dont like the readings I am getting. The needle drops waaaay too low after the car is warm, even though it looks fairly healthy when it is cold. Can't be a good sign.

Anyone know how to change an oil pump?

Oh yeah, I'm probably one of the higher mileage drivers out there....BUT that being said, I think an oil pump swap shoul be up there with the second major tuneup (i.e timing belt/water pump etc.). As invisible as that little baby is, you DO NOT want to see what happens only minutes after it fails.

I'm doing mine when I pull that car out in the spring at 103,000km along with the oil screen, all belts, tensioners, pullies, water pump, alternator rebuild (better now than at 180k) and cam seals.
