Shane, just wondering if you felt comfortable enough with these cars to help do the oil pump, main bearings and rod bearings?
I dont think I'd go it alone, cuz I havent gotten in that deep with the internals on these things yet. Naturally, I'd supply amythign to make the jjob go easier...i.e. food, drinks, tools (have a compressor), heater, etc.
Otherwise, I know a garage that'll charge me about 8 hrs @ $74. plus tax and of course parts.

You know what I'm thinking? There are a few of us with stuff we need to do (I'm just waiting till later on this spring to do stuff).

Maybe we could have a day where a few of us get together to do stuff.

I know I would like some help to do my downpipe, MBC, and shifter.

What do you think???

Scott

PS does that place have air tools??? I need to gut my rear pre-cat, and I hear that will make it easier

I'll lend you a hand if you want to try it out. I haven't gone into the internals too much yet. I'll research it a bit and find out if its something that we will be able too do or something that is best left to a mechanic.

Gutting the back pre-cat is not that hard, you just need room to work! Do the front one first, this way you’ll see how it is. I found that a ½” wood bit work pretty good.

MBC is essay to install.

Shifter is not hard, just time consuming.

Yeah, I hear none of it is too hard -- but you're not mechanically retarded like me :)

I guess the big problem with me is that I have nowhere to do the work, so that's why I'll be asking for some help...

My new DP replaces the front pre-cat, so I'll only have to worry about the rear, thank goodness...

Would you recomend that I don't try it with car on jackstands, and Me lying on the floor?

That is what i was planning to do when ever I get around to it.
thx
Mike

You can if you want, jack your car as high as you can, it might be essayer for working on it, if you only jack one side. This way you won’t be directly under the pre-cat, working on an angle might be the best, since the stuff won’t fall on you!

Don’t forget the long sleeve shirt, goggle, breading mask and something to cover your hair/ear/head (tuke, hood, …) cheap painters white suit with a hood would be good.

So Diablo,

What about getting a bunch of people together to do some modding this spring???
