I just got 2 rear struts from Markham Mitsubishi for 240 each + tax
but with Burlington's discount, it should go down to 204 + tax
Hope it helps

Time for a Don Cherry style rant:
Sheesh, I dont see the point. Why not get better struts regardless of the "settings" for half the price i.e. KYB and forget Mitsu's silly electronic gimmicks? Havent we learned anything from the "tuneable" exhaust fiasco..i.e. additional weight, marginal improvements, unreliable and expensive?
Amazes me that in one thread we are moaning about the racing community not taking us seriously, and in another, we're worrying about electronic gimmicks so our cars won't "feel sporty" when we cruise around....Ladies, are you afraid you might break a nail on the steering wheel when you go over a bump?
Buy some performance struts, be ready for the races 24/7, and use the cash you save for more mods, or Nortel stock!
We now return you to your regularly scheduled tea party.....
Diablo,
Thank you for your input on this one.
I have yet to try the KYB performance struts on my car,and
let you know how I feel about them.
And you are also right about the ECS option, especially since I installed the Intrax I have had no need to switch to Sport mode since the ride would be way too harsh, except maybe on the highway at hight speeds.
However,
I have been reading 3si main board for over three years now and I remember when there were many members replaceing their ECS struts with KYB performance, since they were half the price,
and thay also claimed that our OEM struts/shocks were also produced by KYB,but labelled and sold by Mitsubishi.
Two years later;
I read the posts by the guys that went back to ECS after having their KYB performance struts wear out in about 30K(50Kms),or less than that, and thay claimed that the KYB performance are definately not in the same league as the OEM struts, stateing that thay felt and looked cheap, comparing to our ECS stockers.
Thay also stated that OEM ECS struts will outlast KYB performance when combined either with Intrax or Eibach lowering springs.
Now I can not confirm these reports ,but I will definately find out
how long will these last.
I have replaced all 4 OEM ECS struts/shocks/springs at 145KMs,
and than went back at 150KMS to install Intrax instead on stock struts.
I have currently 179xxxKms on the odometer,
and the car feels fine.
How many clicks on your KYBs?
Thanx
Milan

Hmmm...havent seen these "reports"..but I dont go to that board as often anymore...too many kids/wanna be's.
Mine have been on about 5 years, 100K Kms, driven all year round. Using them with Eibachs. No signs of leaking yet.
Honestly, as I doubt many of our cars will see 300,000kms, I'm not worried if I get that many. After a car gets past 10 years old, I dont see much point in putting a lot of money into parts that MIGHT get you a few thousand more miles.
But thats just me. As soon as mine is paid up next year, its on the market! Before I face the dreaded built in obsolescence and ridiculous costs in parts and labor for these things....Let some 17 yr old learn on it :)

LOL....and then I see your sig:
1976 Corvette Stingray, 1988 L98 5.7L TPI, 1990 700R4 (built), K&N, KYB, Accel Supercoil, 8.8 wires, AFPR, Ported and polished plenum, Grant wheel, Alpine/Orion, other aftermarket.
:D
Ted
LOL....
Ted, the corvette is a toy. It sees about 10, 000 kms every 5 years!
Besides, it doesnt count its a vette!
Not to offend anyone, 3s's are great cars, but I dont see them as "future classic's"....they just never got the credit they deserved from the public opinion (other than us).

Hehe- Yeah, I know, just thought it was pretty funny. You never know, the Stealth may eventually be considered a classic. The 2nd gen's will definately become rare enough in 20+ years...
Ted
I dont think it will happen.
It takes more for a car to be a classic than just because its old or rare.
I think they will be admired by a few people, but they never got the respect or attention they deserved, and that will keep it from achieving "highly desirable" status. Supras have us beat in that area.
Once mine is paid up next year, I'm selling to the first 18yr old that droools on it-which is where I think our re-sale market is, as I still get tons of compliments (not bad for a beat up 12 yr old car with 250K on it). Not collectors. Collectors MAY look at an authentic Indy pace car or rag top or 96-99 TT.
All of the wonderful things about our cars, are "best kept secrets" in the automotive world.....truth is, very few people know anything about our cars. Cant tell you how many times my car has been misidentiifed as a viper, transam, vette, or that stupid awd subaru thing in the early 90's with the half windows (toll windows like the f-40), whatever its called.
Plus, for some reason, jap cars have never really reached that status before anyways.....go buy an early 80's rx7 or 300zx and see what I mean.
Just my opinion, sorry to be negative, its just reality as I see it. I hope I'm wrong! But I was right about the Leafs too!
I don't know but some day I will have my TT hehe. DOHC N/A is good enough for now but I will put a TT right beside it one day. Anyways I love those cars and that is what counts even tho they are expensive to fix etc.. :) I'm broke because of it and I don't care really because once I get behind those wheels my worries are long gone.
I need shocks close enough, altough now you made me think twice on what to get !

Actually, I hope your right as it means more cheap 3/S cars for me! :D
Thing is, you never know. The Supra was depreciating in price fairly normally until F&F came out. All it takes is some movie/etc to feature a car and BOOM! Not saying it's going to happen, but it could. As long as it happens after I finish buying 2 more 3/S's. :p

Ted, thats a bit of along shot right?
After all, we've seen what happened since "Smokey and the Bandit 2000" or whatever the hell that was called. I think there was one in the show from years ago called "Viper". Man, there have been a lot of bad car tv shows!
Supra's and DSM's are an anomally because of their serious mod potential and ease.
Dont get me wrong, I'm not ragging on our cars. I just dont think we're sitting on a gold mine with them. Just enjoy them for now, and drive them into the ground.

That's my plan. However, if any 'Dodge' vehicle from the 90's has a chance of become rare it's most likely the Stealth. 57 96 TT's produced! I'm not counting on it or anything, just wouldn't surprise me if it happened.

As I recall, the Stealth was featured at the beginning of Beverly Hills Cop 2. Eddie Murphy raids a chop shop and then takes off after the bad guys in a red Stealth. He then proceeds to totally trash the Stealth. Enough to make a grown man cry...:(
