View Full Version : Yorkdale Meet Suday April 6

We have sort of joined up with the other mitsubishi guys. April 6 is the first meet.
Yorkdale Mall
Home of the Monthly Club DSM Canada Meeting!
Ok, basically speaking, trying to come up with a map to Yorkdale would be pointless. There are so many streets that come together all at once, it would only get you lost.
Directions?
Well, Yorkdale is at the 401 and Dufferin Road in Toronto.
South side of the 401, East side of Dufferin, you can't miss it!
We generally meet in the South-West corner of the mall parking lot, along Dufferin Road. You'll see us... 12:00noon, first Sunday of the month.
Dufferin is located just West of the Allen Expressway, and a little ways East of the 400.

If you are coming from Newmarket, head down the 404 to 401 and go west till you get to Allen Rd. (Collectors or express doesnt matter) then you quickly take Yorkdale rd. You will come to a set of lights bringing you straight into the mall. if we call that the front, then go to the back. by the Bay i think.
Is your car out for the summer yet?

Hey it's not a bad drive... I grew up in Newmarket and I know that its 40 mins. I did it in 20 mins in my old Talon Tsi once though, set the cruise control at 210 km/hr on the 404 late at night.

As we are having crazy weather conditions in Toronto, I'm guessing the Yorkdale meet is canceled. Its not supposed to snow on Sunday, but the roads are all messy right now. Will someone be posting a message to let us know if it is cancelled or not????

I'm hoping its postponed. Or else I'll have to show up driving a 4x4. I barely made it to work this morning in my car. I'm glad its not lowered!

I guess since i announced it, i have to answer that eh?
well its a group decision. Want to postpone it one week?
April 13, same bat-time, same bat-channel?
That way it will just be 3S's, but its still a good opener. I know a few people couldent make it this sunday, regardless of weather anyway. So chime in. What do you say?

Who's the guy in the green Stealth that snuck up on me on highway 7 just before the Bayview exit today at 1PM and gave me the thumbs up? :) I'm sure it was one of you guys from the board, and I know that it wasn't stock!
Was that you Fast Eddie? I'm assuming it was because I was in your neck of the woods. Anyways, the exhaust sounds REALLY sweet. :)

HAhaha, Ya that was me. :) I had just come from the spray wash at the Shell down the road. Funny thing is i was thinking of following you to check out the Mitsuspeedshi and tell you about this Sunday. But i guess you already knew about that eh? :p
Cant wait to see that sucker up close.
SpeedFreakSteve
04-10-03, 01:44 PM
Cool... you caught me so offguard. I was just running an errand during my lunch hour at work and stuffing my face with McDonalds when you pulled up. I could tell that you just washed it. My car is filthy as you could see. Where is that place you washed it at? I work in the area (Warden/hwy 7)
I wanna check out that exhaust setup you got closeup. :)

Right across from where you got McDumps is a Shell gas station. They have a drive-through car wash and a coin-op spray wash where you do it yourself. Ive taken my time washing there on a Saturday night, and have seen some of the coolest cars go through.
Anyway, the exhaust is sort of a hack job  When they put it on first, it was sticking way out the back. at least 4" (looked like James Bond rocket launchers) So i went back and they had to chop, weld and bend everything to make it fit right. But it works. And the tips are actually growing on me. I thought they were too big at first, but now that they are tucked in, they dont look so bad.
SpeedFreakSteve
04-10-03, 03:07 PM
You'll have to tell me where you got them done. I been to a few muffler shops around and none of them would do the system I wanted (premuffler intact and no mufflers). Your tips was one of the first things I noticed, I like them.
I think I'll hit that car wash in an hour when I'm done work. I hate when my car is dirty.

You should've saw my car around the end of January! Was covered in sand, salt, mud, and snow.
I don't know how you guys can handle storing your car for the winter. I would feel tortured not being able to drive it for that long. :) Unless my winter car was an Eclipse or something.
Monopoly
04-11-03, 10:48 AM
heh yeah its REALLY sucks storing it in the winter..but hey what can u do? mines never seen a winter and never will hopefully and i want to keep it that way!:D
Scott_93TT
04-11-03, 01:22 PM
Yeah, mine's never seen a winter either.
The thing is, as much as I wish I had it out, when I see all the crap on the roads, I'm glad my baby doesn't have to go through that.
I like the fact that my door jambs have never needed more than a simple wipe after a wash... I look at my Intrepid now, and dread detailing it:(
SpeedFreakSteve
04-11-03, 02:01 PM
I know that long term its smarter to keep it stored. But fortunately, mine actually stays pretty clean during most of the winter. I treat it to a touchless car wash every week or so to keep it salt-free, and give it a quick rinse with my hose at home... although that can make the driveway a bit slippery when its -5C outside. I mainly just drive it to work and back.

Yep.. I threw mine up on a webpage just now, if you click the thumbnails you get the original full size pic. They print out to photo quality in a good printer.
