DUNLOP - SP SPORT FM901 (http://www.tiretrends.com/tire_info.php3?detailID=5436)
I really like the thread on those tires, and they seem pretty reasonably priced.
The only thing I can't see, is the depth of the thread rating,
and that's pretty important ,since that is the only way to determine how long is the tire going to last.
If it's rated less then 200 it's probably not worth buying,
since you may end up replacing them soon, especially if you like to drive hard, but i guess its up to you.
I 've got potenzas RE730 245/45/17 for a 1000 bucks cash installed and balanced+free rotation every 10K.
I like them a lot, however I wish they looked slightly bigger on the rim, here is why:
The old Nitto 555's looked somewhat wider and nicer than these,
but I can't get Nittos up here in Canada yet,so that's why i went with Potenzas instead.

actually a higher rating for speed means a softer(more sticky) compound rubber in the tire, which in turn leads to the tire wearing quicker, than a tire of a higher speed rating......
that is one of the factors in my choice for this tire!

Those Dunlops look pretty cool.. But for me its all about the Z rating...For you that arent familiar with Yoko A520's heres the link...
http://www.tiretrends.com/tire_info.php3?detailID=2492
They are amazing tires for traction and acceleration...They stick like Glue! I paid $210 for each one but reg. priced at about $235
The only downside to A520's is that they make a slight humming noise when cruising at 110+ km's. doesnt bother me it
i want AVS sports!

Here's a link from the Tire Rack that gives some information about the construction of the tire. The higher Treadwear #, the longer the tire should last.

Was that $210 installed? After checking out your tires, and reading a bunch of reviews, I'm thinking of going with the ones you got. I can get them for $230 installed in Toronto.
The best tire i have EVER driven on where Yokahama A028's. I loved that tire.
The worst tire was Michelin XGT's. They cost me 1000 bucks US, and they were the worst tires EVER.
Right now i have Khumo Extas. THAT MY FRIEND, is an AMAZING tire in the rain. That tire performs outstandingly in the rain, like WOW. Dry weather too. Overall a great tire.

The guy must have spent his money on width instead of quality. they are made by General. Maybe he got them mixed up with his RV tires.

last month I came across a place in montreal that was on the internet and displayed all the tires they sold. I got a quote from them on a set of Dunlop SP Sport 901 245/45R17 with tax and delivery. It came to $660.00 or $147. per tire. Best price so far including from the states. Now these were on special but they had others too. Place is called
Talontire , www.talontire.com. Ive mentioned this place before to someone here at a different pasting.
