Is that the newest model compustar? THe 2 way pager is cool. I heard good and bad things about them. Some people have had problems with them auto arming/disarming. Also they are a pain to install.
If you're looking for one, I can get you one for $490 installed.
well...not installed since you're out east. I think install usually runs about $100.

Yes it is the newest model. How much can you get the unit for without minus the install price??

memystealthandi,
That's an incredible price. We're gonna have to talk soon!
I was in at AutoTemp yesterday, and was talking to the guy there about the 2wfm series (older one-not spread spectrum), and they wanted $750 installed. I don't even want to know where you're getting yours from. ;)
What can you get the 2wfm installed for?
Actually I should probably get a radar detector first; I went snowboarding last week, and finally got a chance to drive the Stealth on the Trans Canada. 110 Km per hour is just above idling! I can definitely see that doing a lot of highway driving is going to get expensive fast!
:D
someone got a website fer dis unit? i neva heard of it:confused:

OK, I will contact the guy tomorrow. A assure you it is perfectly legit. The guy is an independant installer, and can purchase everything at cost. Auto temp is WAY over priced. Go down the road to impressions, and they can get you the same alarm installed for under $500. If you need a name, PM me.
You should get a radar detector. I don't use mine in the city, and just got a $82 photo radar in the mail today. I was only going 66 in a 50 zone.....???

Ok, I just set the guy an email message. He quoted me that price about a few weeks back.

I just finished having the UltraStarters 4500XR-M installed... great product!
It's very similar to the CompuStar product.. here is a link to their website...

As for your expensive highway driving, i got exceptional mileage on my last trip to Jasper from Edmonton, aprox 3.5hrs of traveling @ 120km/h, cost 66.00 in gas.. (there and back) (84cents in Edmonton & 93cents in jasper). Not as bad as i would have expected it to be!
Of course on the way home i brought her up to 170km/h once or twice to see how fast she'll go.. *grin* couldn't resist...

ShdwMastr,
Ya, I've been impressed with my gas mileage. Beats the hell out of my wife's Jeep Cherokee. Sorry, my reference to highway driving being expensive, was in respect to the number of tickets I'm going to get if I don't slow down just a little bit....LOL! ;)
