LOL, check out this thread over at bc.dsm.org's messageboard... I'm surprised some of these DSMers are so uninformed. :o "Tranny's like glass"... yeah like we have anything to brag about.

Oh well, I posted my two cents... anybody know who's Stealth they are talking about from the Edmonton Battle O' the Imports from 2000?

Is that true or what? You never heard much about these cars, even when they were in production.

"Wonder why no one made a big deal outta them?? Everyone talked about the 300Ztt, the Rx7TT, the Vettes and Vipers etc, but the Stealth/3KGT seemed to sorta take a back burner."

its always been an outsider of the group i guess...
but if you compare in 1991 the stealth and 300ZX TT have al lot of the same specs...only diff is the 300ZX does like .2 of a sec better than the stealth..
The RX-7 in 1991 doesnt even come close and with the supra or the vette!

i also love how people compare the Stealth to the viper...the viper is setup TOTALLY different than the stealth! fucking pushrods galore for one thing and + its a 2 seater and doesnt even have air conditioning!!! look at all the features we get man!! the stealth has as much options on it as a fully loaded Jag XK-8! Plus the weight as well:rolleyes:

haha. Lots of bad information. I'm tempted to sign up, but "mad props" to DSM Power for representing us and relaying some proper info. I say, let them think we have slow ass cars....they will see.

Now what is this 8 hour spark plug change you speak of...(thanks again for the use of your garage....lol. You up for another marathon plug change/plenum swap soon...?)

I've heard of that stealth up in edmonton also. (I know you have too.....PM me..)

Well start driving over, we'll hook you up. If you have 8 hours or so. Only $50/hr for labour though. Okay?

i like where they said "320 hp and only runs mid 13's". I guess they're not big fans of the Supra TT, 300ZXTT(300hp running 14's), or the LT1 camaro. LOL

and the stock time is 13.4. PM AND Car&Driver both pulled 13.4's out of a second gen VR-4.

BPU is good for 12.5 and lower. Stock turbo's are good for high 11's with upgraded fuel components of course.

And no, it's not a drag car. But shit, we're doing pretty good with quite a few cars in the 10's, and countless amounts of cars in 11's.

But we don't compare to the eclipse/talon fastest list, LOL, with cars in the 7's. That's pretty fucking impressive right there.

Those arent cars, those are 1000lb go-karts.
Tube chassis, fiberglass body, running 28PSi on NASA liquid fuel with their balls in a bear trap and their hair on fire.
....Now drive THAT to work ;)

Yeah...for you guys maybe. Try running those times in Calgary. Add about a second to that. BPU stealths here will run about mid 13's. damn elevation, etc.

Elevation shouldn't hurt a f/i car as much as a n/a car. It will hurt a bit, thats expected. But it is nice when you see stock ls1's running mid-low 14's due to elevation, and not getting the same response mod for mod, it should make you feel a bit better.

Air density is air density
Why wouldnt it affect fuel injection as much?
Actually I just re-read your post, and am even more confused! LS1's are fuel injected as well, so I dont know what you are talking about. Do you mean Turbo's? Again, the engine doesnt know where the o2 came from, so air density is still a factor for either normally aspirated or turbos/supercharged.

As to the posts, lets face it, they make some good points.
Until the past 2 years, we've had NO presence in the heavily modded circles, our trannies do have a bad rep, even in our own ranks, and our cars are heavy and any accolades we've won have been in the slalom courses, which, honestly, almost none of us have or will ever expereince....Slalom is big in europe, but non existent in NA.
Drag is what gets the press here, and there are many cars that can be modded more easily and cheaply than ours, so lets not take it personal. On the other hand, I knowwhen I take a client out in my car I make a much better impression that if I would in a lowered civic / talon. DOnt compare yourselves with those guys...their heads turn when a purple neon emblazoned with stickers and a pipe goes by. IMO, we're more in the LS1 crowd as fas as exclusivity goes.

Uhhhh.... you mean the Honda crowd. Trust me, 90% of DSM owners would not be caught dead with stickers and neon.

Ya I dont know where you live, but in the GTA, although the DSM's have nicer cars, I wouldnt say their tastes in esthetics are much better than the Honda's.

I think when he said "f/i" he meant Forced Induction not Fuel Injection.
