Hello,
I have two Stealth I need to scrap... since I have no place to keep them anyway and winter is right there. Details below.
White 1994 Dodge Stealth R/T
~260,000 km... timing belt and a few recent new parts on it. Invested 2000$ before summer 2007. The rear tires were completely done so I had under-steering on water aquaplaning and hit the border on the Champlain Bridge @ Montreal. The front passager side was damaged, but I was still able to get back home 1 hour from Montreal. I guess the frame is damaged.
I will probably keep the wheels and send it to the scrap if no ones is interested in it for parts. I'm not gonna waste my time selling it parts by parts. It's the whole car or nothing. I can sell the rims/tires separately though.
Red 1991 Dodge Stealth AWD Twin Turbo
Bought that car 2 months ago @ 12,500$ in excelent condition. Freshly new painted 3 years ago, never seen winters. People asked me "is that a 2008 car"? 160,000 km, 2 previous owners only. (last one had it for 8 years and had 55 years old)
Okay, like I explained in previous thread, I jumped over a "terre-plein" (don't know the word in english) and there was no sign to tell there was a "terre-plein" over there (Saint-Denis North until you reach Cremazie, then it becomes Berri which is one-way South). Ridiculous accident at 4 AM. Taxi told me it happens often. Why don't they put a freakin 'no entry here' sign?!
Anyway, after my fantastic jump, I checked the car and obviously the 4 rims/tires were dead. Also, I guess the whole drive-train backed due to the shock. Bottom line was $21k in repair from the dealer (with new parts)... and it was not worth it because the frame was probably affected so I decided to buy a new older and cheaper AWD TT (had no insurance) and switch a few pieces from my accidented Red TT to the new one.
So basically items I took off the car and used in the new car:
- Transmission
- Transfer Case (it was brand new)
- 1 Front Oxygen Sensor
- Radiators
- Central A/C control 'system'
- Bunch of little misc stuff my father wanted (speedo dash, some electricity lines for doors, etc.)
Items I took off the car but DID NOT USE. (Can sell them!)
- Turbos (~160km and like I said the previous 8-9 years owner did not abuse them)
- Front lights w/ flashers (not sure if they did it)
- Radio w/ cd player (cd player is not working well)
I can keep that car and send it at my Dad's place... BUT I'm honestly not sure about it. I kept the most important things (ie: Turbos, Tranny, Transfer Case) so the only interesting BIG part left is the engine.
I know that if I send this car to the scrap, the engine will be gone within a few weeks. The whole body of the car is in excelent condition so if you hit a dear or anything, it is interesting to have doors, fenders, seats, etc.
But on the other end, I dunno if it's worth the trouble for me to keep the car when you can find cheap parts on Canada3SI/3SI.com -- ie: My time is not cheap! I would have to go back each time and remove the stuff myself without tools, plus the car is not really moving so... I'm thinking of just scrapping it or selling it to another 3si guy that might be interested in parts and/or departs it and resells items one by one to make a few bucks.
If you are interested in getting one or both of these car at a fair price, just contact me:
