Hello Laddies,
I wanted to get some feedback on the rear end conversion of my 1992 Stealth R/T and Custom Exhaust....I recently bought a 1995 Rear Bumper Cover and had it painted and installed over the weekend...It was a "pig" right from the moment we tried taking off the old bolts from the previous set up....Snapped nearly everyone of them....Word of advice when removing anything over 10 years old..If it looks rusty..use a torch to heat it up...Would have saved us an hour at least...Anyhoo, it turned out pretty good....Here's a pic of the old bumper :

It took a day to prime, prep and paint the bumper....It was installed Saturday and I had it for a couple of days before it
went over to the dealer for the ultimate exhaust system :
Custom downpipe - (2) 2.25" mandrel bent pipe with flex sections both coming from the manifolds going into a Crush 3" pipe at one end going to 3" round at the other...into a 3" I/O Carsound Hi Flow Catalytic going into a 3" pipe which then got reduced down to 2.5" round pipe which went into Canamex 3 chamber muffler and then out 2.5" again to the split Chrome dual tip (Borla) which I provided....
I wish I was able to record the sound of this thing....It's something I'm going to have to get used to....The expression on my wife's face was priceless...I'll never forget it....
Here is the pic of the new bumper and exhaust :

The Custom Exhaust System was provided by Eclipse Motorsport on the Queensway at Islington....Installation took the whole day but well worth the wait...The guys at Eclipse are a great bunch of guys who take there work quite seriously...They are one of the best knowledged staff of DSM/3000GT/Stealth cars in Ontario....Ask for Bill Boussier he's the Motorsport Manager who personally installed my exhaust system...He comes with 15 years of experience and is one of the leaders in his industry.... They are quite approachable and can answer pretty much any related DSM/3000gt/Stealth question...They saved my ass on a number of occasions and have earned my respect and work...If you want any more information about the exhaust system or Eclipse Motorsport I'll be glad to answer any questions otherwise you can call them directly....ask for Bill and tell them Gianni (Blue92) sent ya....

WOW, that's not bad, not bad at all. I actually kind of like. First exhaust i've ever seen like that. Nice job man.
But the paint doesn't seem to match. THe car is blue in the before picture, but then it's greenish in the after picture. did you repaing the ENTIRE car to match the bumper? Or is it just the lighting making seem diffrent?

Sorry about the pic...Damn camera...I've had it for about
2 years now..you'd think I would have learned how to use
it....Anyway the colour of the car is the same as the first image
...Somehow exposure was off when I took the second picture...
Eclipse did an excellent job and they were pretty reasonable with
the time and price....
I have to beware of the cops now.... They may not be able to see
me speeding but they will sure be able to hear me now....
Out....
You took your car to Eclipse for the work and paint??
I don't know about their service department, but they sales department is a bunch of thieves and liars. Very unethical buisness.

They just did the exhaust work to it....They let me watch while they did the installation...Did you have a bad dealing with them? I have been taken care of pretty well to date...Eclipse Automobiles is dividedup into two separate entities sharing the same building...Eclipse Automobile sells the cars and Eclipse Motorsport does all the fancy stuff.
Painting was done by a recent acquaitence on mine
Gianni
No, nothing personally. Just the fact that they've had a salvaged VR-4 from the states selling on their lot as a vehicle WITH NO HISTORY, lol. The sales person didn't even wana give me the vin number of the car, LOL. Didn't know it was devided into two parts.
Anyway, don't wana hijack this thread. I like the look of the exhaust on your new bumper. Looking good.

Don't mean to be a dick but... Our cars aren't DSM's. They were built in Osaka, Japan. Not Normal, Illinois.

Nice Job!
That really is a unique look. Definitely won't get confused with anyone else's rear end! ;) I've always loved that color of blue.
do you have any pics of the exhaust install?

Hey BigBoi,
Pix, you mean what the exhaust system looks like underneath from front to back or of the actual in process installation?...If you mean the latter...I wish I had taken them when the car was on the hoist....If you mean the actual system itselft...I would have to get the car back onto the hoist for you to real appreciate it....I designed the layout of the system I wanted and Bill at eclipse motorsport came up with the great idea for the custom downpipe...I'll see if I can get the car on the hoist next week...Alecos Motorsport down in the states is interested in the layout as well...Mind you it isn't a fancy looking system by any means but it was surprisingly easy to layout...Lots of room and cavities under our cars....But....if I ever have to replace anything gas tank related I'm kind of SOL....If your think of doing a custom exhaust seriously consider a well insulated muffler...I love the sound of mine but man is it loud during acceleration....May have to reinvest in quieter muffler...I'm gettin old..and I donts hear sooo good....
Gianni
yeah i was referring to pics of the exhaust on the car!!
What dod you use for muffler(s), a straight through design or somethin with baffels in it?
thanks
Mike

I opted for a Canamex 3 Chamber muffler as opposed to straight through...I can't even imagine the sound that would come out that....Plus a 3 chamber helps maintain a little backpressure...I don't think you want to get rid of all of it....The exhaust makes a decelerating growl which is kind of neat..didn't expect that..I will
try to get pictures of the exhaust in a few days...looks like a busy weekend...I'm getting timing belt and stuff done on Saturday...then Easter...etc...Hoping for warm weather...I hate the cold....lol
