Hey guys/Salut les gars!
I'm new here, looking forward to learning more about my own car...
I gots me a 1991 Stealth ES, 85,000km, and even though it's a BIG HEAVY car, I love it!
I'll start things off with a question: does anyone know how to get those pesky old car dealer stickers off of the paint? With time, it's gotten all gunked up, I tried covering it up with another sticker, but that one is peeling away... Is something like Goo Gone or other gunk removal products going to work, or do I need to use something special to preserve the paint?
Also, where is a good cheap place to get a tuneup, the car is old and there are some minor issues, I'd like to get back the full 222 horseys it had in '91!

Welcome to the forums.
Welcome to the board.
Hmmm, not sure what you can use to remove the sticker, hehe. And i'm not in the MTL area, so i don't know who'se good and who'se not for working on cars. Some of the local people will be able to help you though.
Welcome and good luck.

You could try some WD-40. Spray it on, let it soak in, and see if you can peel/scrape it off. WD-40 is a terrible penetrant, but it makes one helluva cleaner/degreaser. My wife uses it in the laundry to get spots out of shirts. I've had good luck getting stickers off of the rear window with it. Good luck!
welcome!
I'll second that WD-40 motion:D it works, spray it on and rub off the goo with a rag!!

Welcome!
If your siticker is one of those thick plastic ones stuck on with some sort of double-sided tape stuff (like car name badges) the best way to get it off is a blowdryer to heat it up, and slide dental floss behind it. Then to get the sticky gunk off that is left behind, yep, you're back to good ole' WD-40 :)

nope, it's actually one of those really thin ones, a cool fm sticker to be exact. I used it to cover up the old dealer sticker, but noe that it's starting to peel off, I'd like to be able to remove both. The Cool FM sticker shouldn't be too hard, but the simple fact that the Rond Point Dodge Chrysler sticker has stuck for 12 years tells me it's going to be a bitch-a-roony-doonie to remove...
Try Goo Gone but my best bet is friction alcohol it works for me. And you will have to rub. Maybe car wax (removed bad tar on my car) ?
And where are you at Seb ? Mine is a 92 ES so welcome to the board fellow ES'er.

St-Bruno, south shore of Montreal.
You wouldn't happen to be a certain home theater enthusiast that works at a certain St-Bruno stereo center, would you?
If you are (and your name DOES ring a bell) we've spoken and met before.
(Think Klipsch and Energy speakers).

The same thing happened to me, twice... I got tickets after getting girlfriends back to their houses... the first time around I lost my temporary license for 3 months, and I had to pedal to go get laid... the second time I had a real license, so didn't lose it, only lost points.
Still, I think the endorphins or whatever cool-ass drugs make us forget about the cop menace and gets our foot heavier. I should make a university thesis about this!
Haven't been to this board ina long time... I'm thinking of selling my Dodge Stealth, so I was ashamed to come here... What do you think a very well cared for, 90,000km red '91 Dodge Stealth ES with some slight paint blemishes would go for? Considering the owner until 2002 was my mom?

Im new to the family to .. to answer your questions..
1) Ive heard a blowdryer set to hight heat, let the glue heat up a little bit and then with your finger nails start to peel of.. then use WD- 40 to continue removing the sticker.. then when the stickers or badges that you want to remove are off use some light compound rub to get rid of the excess gunk.
2) to Order parts for the best prices, HYATT Mitsubishi in Calgary Alberta. The reason is they have the best prices around, you get 15% off their already low prices if your a member of this forum + no PST (provincial sales tax, Its Alberta)
Hope this helps.
