hehe, hehehehe, it's not a fun job. It's hard, it's long, and it'll draw blood. If you don't have one of those tranny crate, or stand, whatever you wana call it, to put the tranny on after you drop it
, it's gona be a bitch of a job, ESPECIALLY putting it back on without one. But dont' drop the tranny on the ground too hard, and don't drop it on yourself, 'cause it'll hurt REALLY bad, lol. Putting the tranny back on is the shittiest part. You have to get it perfectly aligned.

Not a fun job.

Weekend job or longer??

Ummm, if you're gona do it alone, maybe weekend job, but maybe longer, since it's probably your fist time doing this. So you'll going back and fourth from the manual, to the computer, back to the car, etc.., hehe. Say it takes someone who knows what they're doing about 5 hours or longer. Mitsu charges 8 hours labour for this job.

I HIGHLY doubt you'll be able to do it all alone. That tranny is HEAVY, especially when you're on your back and it falls straight on your chest, LOL.

Not to discourage you, but you're gona have some VERY frustrating moments. Just remember, DON"T take it out on the car, LOL.

I'll be doing it myself with some background help from some pros. We'll have a nice shop to do it in, no backyard jobs. I just want to get my baby on the road!
Actually my car is kinda like yours Crazey, 94 3000GT VR-4, without the Bomex lip.

Could anyone provide a detailed procedure to the removal and installation of the clutch?? More detailed than a manual??

Yup, only diffrence is you probably have the Big sunroof right?? I have a 96, so it's an extremly tiny power sunroof. And you have Active exhaust, i don't, you have ECS, i don't, hehehe. The only thing the 96 kept was the active aero. Then 97 didn't have ANY of that stuff.

Anyway, good luck with your clutch replacment.

ECS, Active exhaust and the Active Aero are such gimmicks, they do nothing, but they're cool to show off to all the ricers:p

The bomex lip was 230 + 70 shipping to South Carolina + 150 to paint (US dollars).

From what people say with ECS, you can actually feel the diffrence in ride. And the active exhaust is kind of useless, but it does completly change the tone of the exhaust. And the Active Aero, well, alot of Super cars use it, like the Porsche TT, the Bugatti EB110, McLaren F1 i beleive has active aero, Ultimate GTR i beleive has active aero, and there's one more i can't remember.

It must do something, but more probably at high speeds than anything. The active aero on some of the cars i listed, pop up under breaking at high speeds to keep the car balanced and grounded.

I don't know, i presonally don't feel a diffrence with the active aero up or down, i just like to use it to wave, LOL.

Ditto!

I read somewhere that the active aero is a gimmick because scientifically, the differences of downforce when the spoiler is up and down is extremely minimal. Perhaps on the Porsche, Bugatti and Mclaren, the design of the car plus the active aero creates a greater downforce. The active exhaust is cool just to show off to your friends. I'd prefer a Borla exhaust system, but I do feel a difference with the ECS, when it's on sport mode, it feels like you're riding in a Corvette it's so rough. Nice touch though.

It wasn't called the Swiss army knife of cars for nothing, LOL. All those buttons.

Though i do agree, they were uselss. I think that's why they did away with them in 97+ models.

Did you start your clutch job yet??

lady3kgt

NO! And I'm going insane because it's super nice here in Winnipeg and I'm not driving my car!
I'm SUPPOSED to do it this weekend, IF everything works out. I may just have to resort to the dealership if I can't find a place to do the job. My clutch arrived last Friday, RPS C/C Single Disc & Flywheel, it's gonna be schweeeeeeet!
