I don't have to be too concerned about saying the dreaded s word since the damn stuff is covering most of the province now anyway. The weekend is supposed to warm up and that'll be my chance to jack the NA up and get the X-Ice tires on her. Fourth winter with these tires I think... absolutely love 'em. :)

My Blizzak MZ-01's are now 7 years old and they still work awesomely! I can't believe how well the tread has held up. Now if I could only find a clear road...

I take it the 'Stang is under a nice warm blanket for awhile, at least until the weekend!

I actually had the 'Stang out earlier tonight since the roads were dry here, but yes, it will be cozy in the garage for most of the winter. I'm not even considering winter boots for it. The good ol' NA will be excellent for another southern Alberta winter. :)

Speaking of boots, I'm looking for a set, what does everyone run during the winter? My TT has never been driven in the winter but this 92 NA RT will be toughing it out. It's got 225/60/16's on it now, which I don't think is the factory size. Any recommendations?

I'd go with a set of either the Blizzak WS-60's or Michelin XIce2's. No other tire works as well on ice, and that is our biggest threat/enemy during the winter.
I'd go with a size 225/55x16 which is stock for the NA's I believe. For winter driving, the narrower the better.

You can save yourself roughly $300 for a set by ordering them from Tirerack out of the States, and for a change UPS doesn't get a chance to rip you off at the door!!! :D Definitely check them out; that's where I get all my tires for all the family's vehicles!

I'm running Nokian Hakapelliita 5 studed, 205/50/17!

Ran Hakka 4 the 3 last years and liked them. Hakka 5 are supposed to be better!

238$ each + tx.

I've got some cheap all-seasons on the stock rims (225/50 I think I went with) and they're fine for me.

of course, I smoked an H2 -during a blizzard- with the Comp T/As that were on it when I got it so the all-seasons should be fine for me:p

Got X-Ice on my Nissan X-trail and they are fantastic.

Got summer Falken 452's on my Stealth and it is really funny trying to move it on snow. Sort of like watching a newborn colt trying to walk. But hoo boy they are nice in the summer.

Snortin' is right, the stock size for NA tires is 225/55/16 and that's what my X-Ice tires are. I mounted them on the OEM wheels and put Avon ZZ-1's on the perty 18" rims for the other season.
