Hey, i noticed you have an L-98 C4. Any mods to it?? My cousin has an 87, and he wants to mod it a bit. He wants headers right now, he already has borla cat back. But he's not sure if he needs long or short headers, and the answers he gets from the vette forum are pretty vague. Plus on top of that, he has no clue where to order from in canada. You have any idea??

Also, about the members marketplace thing.

Give me a title of what you want the forum to be named. And either write up a guildline of what the forum is for, and what's it's not for, etc.... and i'll i can post it, or if you want, i can make you a moderator for that forum, and you can post the announcment yourself, and moderate that area to it remains on topic.

Let me know.

Peter

Hey Peter.
Thats the same motor I have, except I refitted it into a c3 body, and added the matching TH700r4 trans after by cutting the driveshaft.
I havent done any major mods to it, as my plan is to stroke the motor to a 383.
What I've done is added in the throttle body flow thingy (a waste of money in my opinion), K&N obviously (might work better if I can get some more fresh air up there, Adjustable fuel pres. regulator (again, I'm not sure there was any benefit there unless you have low pressure, but you certainly can screw things up with it)., a custom true dual cat back, supercoil, wires and a few more little things.
If I were him, I'd get the long headers, provided he can match them nicely to the Borla. Reasons being, longer headers typically have better air flow, and the heat dissipates further away from the engine, so it can breathe better. I think you also get a nicer rumble out of them as well.
I havent bought parts in awhile for it....depends what he wants. In canada, I go to Performance Improvements-site seems to be down. But overall, its usually better to go to Summit, or one of the US big boys.
But IMO, modding those cars is not like ours where we just up the boost as high as the motor will take it, and make sure everything else meets its needs. 350sb's only seem to respond to head work and breathability. He needs to focus on either expanding the c4's narrow power band, or generating more power within that power band. They seem to run out of steam in the 5000-5500 rpms area, and peak just before it.
The factory alum. heads are an excellent start. With a machine shop doing some work on them, they are a great perf. head. So much so, that they are really hard to get great deals on on Ebay (believe me, I'v been looking!). After that, its exhaust, air intake (i.e. bigger throttle body), and if necessary, step up to bigger injectors like the Mustang ones, and maybe an engine management system.
Hope that helps. The vette guys are pretty useless on the whole, I found. I thought there were more inovative and technical types at www.thirdgen.org Its the camaro/trans am guys site, but its basically the same motor.

I was thinking of Members Marketplace as a name for the forum.
I'd be happy to moderate it if you like. In a nutshell it will be similar to the miscellaneous for sale wanted section, but much more geared towards services and non-3s products. More towards business to business or business to home, cottage industry/entrepreneurships, even careers.

I just noticed you are in Gatineau. My company (Danone) has an office out there. I think they work on the bottled water brands of Crystal springs, Naya and Labrador among others. The office is out in the forest though

Cool, thanks for all the info man. I'll pass it on to him. Preciate it  .

Ok, i created the members market place forum. Now, i need a forum discription, a short one, you know, like under General it says "General anything goes forum". What should i put for the Members Market Place??

Also, i'll make you a moderator for that forum if you want, so you can post an announcment on that forum describing to members it's purpose. It's currently locked, i'll unlock it as soon as you reply, on what i should put as a discription, if anything. I don't HAVE to put one, so should i??
