hey guys...
well i did a search on the board and it looks like some of you guys have done this yourselves but im not willing to take the chance, im a clutz sometimes when it comes to cars...

so im just wondering if anyone knows any places in the TORONTO area where I can get a tune up done (plugs, timing belt, water pump...etc) and where I wont get ripped off...

thanks

Dan

I think Crazykid would probably be able to do all that no?? And i'm sure he won't rip you off, lol.

Other than that, i'd take the chance and get ripped off at dodge. They've worked on these cars before, and if they mess up, they warranty their work, and it's not backed my some little shop, it's backed my Dodge themselves.

I'm almost due for my 60k. I was gona take it to a 3S performance shop, but decided to take it to mitsu instead. I'll play only a couple hundred more, but i'll get warranty for the work.

When i can scrap up 1400 US dollars, i'll be taking mine in, LOL.

HOLY SHIT!!

QEW/427 just quoted me $1,812 for a full tune up...plugs, wires, timing belt, water pump (refurb), gaskets + labour...

if I want the platinum plugs and a brand new water pump it goes to about $2100...AND they dont even have half the parts....needless to say i told him id think about it

What the hell is this a ferrari im driving or something???

no wonder they discontinued these cars....ridiculous!!

I recently had my R/T Twin Turbo in for some spring maintenance (including the TC recall). I asked about a tune-up at the time. THey quoted me $83 PER sparkplug!! THat's right a Mitsubishi part in a Mopar box is $83. I called the new Mitsubishi dealer in Thornhill and their sparkplug (same thing) is $17 each.

I declined the tune-up at the Chryco dealer and will be going to the Mits dealer instead.

Seriously,

If you want a tune up done right, hopefully you have a personal contact with a mech that you can trust and is willing to find the best deal for you.

Speaking of plugs, I got mine for $20 each.....and my mech did tell me that he called the dealer and they said $84 each...

crazy...

I'd be willing to do some stuff on my car....but man..without my own garage...it's kinda hard

Oh furthermore,

Try to get contacts on this board.....
We are all members of a nice community, and I've gotten parts etc...through these boards and it's been a nice experience so far.

They can't really screw you over either since people know each other here and there's a reputation to keep.

$83 per plug is rediculous ya, but even at $17 a plug, you are still paying $102 for spark plugs! Supply your own from Crappy Tire. No more than $25. Just think, you could get 24 plugs for $100.

And TorontoRT (Dan?), Talk to Crazykid (Shane) about that tune-up. He's done many, and I'm sure he could save you hundreds.

well...just got back from eclipse motorsport & service and the car is running great!

it cost me $1084 + tax and they ordered the parts in a day and had the car ready for me when i went to pick it up after work.
compared to the $2000 + that the dealer was quoting me plus they didnt know how long it would take to get the parts and the shitty service you get sometimes with them.

the guys at eclipse seem to understand what their talking about when it comes to our cars...so if you ever need a tune up or service done on your 3/S then i recommend them.

Ask for Bill Bussiere and tell em Dan (94 black stealth) sent ya!
