It's been awhile since I've posted, but it's mainly because my car has not been in a condition to be seen, as those who saw it over the summer can attest. It currently looks more like a drifter than anything, with missing body kit and mismatched body panels.

I was wondering if anyone knew of anyone who is willing to spray paint on my car for a reasonable price or in exchange for computer services or take payment over a year? I don't have a lot of money on hand but until the car is painted, it's just hiding in storage because it looks so horrible.

It doesn't need to be a perfect job - I figure in a few years I can get it done better. But right now, it's a mishmash of colours. I do have all of the body kit. I've just taken it off and removed the interior so it's ready for paint. (Though before parts of the body kit are put back on, bolts would need to be drilled out and retapped - some snapped off when the kit was removed.) I've already started Bondo, sanding, and prep on two areas - one was a dent that was nasty, and another was a tiny amount of surface rust that I sanded down, then filled with a small amount of Bondo to keep it flush.

My current plan, if all else fails, is to rattlecan it - it wouldn't be perfect but would be passable. But for that, I'd need a heated garage for a week or two. So if anyone has any leads there, that is an option too.

I'm in the Edmonton area but for paint, it could be taken anywhere from here to Calgary. Heck, even Grande Prairie is an option if a deal could be worked out.

I hate to sound desperate, but I worked so hard to finally get Derpy - the name me and friends have given the car - and I'd just love to have it half-arsed presentable in the spring.

I'd love to hear any suggestions.

there is a shop on 104th street, south of 61ave, called Desro Automotive, that specializes in renting out bays, and tools needed for diy repairs. They even have a paint booth, and I imagine the sprayer and tools needed. I know they rent by the hour, but I imagine they rent by the day too, or would work something out for you. Last time I checked, there was a 3000gt sitting in there also:) That was over a year ago.

Also, we have to meet up some time, seeing as we are basically neighbors:)

I forgot about Desro. I'll call and see. My only fear is if something comes up and after a week it's not ready to leave the shop. Then I need to start figuring out ways to get it out. I'm new to paint and all of this, so I'm certain there will be numerous things I never think of that suddenly come up. I'll see what their rates are though.

Definitely need to meet. :) I'm in Calgary this weekend for two Christmas parties, and the girlfriend has a company Christmas party I'm going to next Saturday, but apart from that, I'm free. In fact, I think I'm done on Wednesday at work, until New Years. So lots of free time soon. :)
