Finally! I'm not the only one going to those Stealth/3000GT Gatherings :D

Hi All,

I'm sure none of you know me but I go back aways. I'm one of the original members of the Stealth/3000GT email list which was way before 3SI was even thought of. Some of you may have seen my http://stealth.senecac.on.ca page. That's me :)

I've been out of the loop for a while but thanks to Gene Ross (gross?), I've found this site. It feels like home already.

I still have my red 92 Stealth TT but am not very active in any mailing lists or websites. Maybe this is my turning point back to activity.

I was very active back then and I've gone to three or four of the original Gatherings. This was back when there was only one per year and my first one was in Ocean City, MD where I was one of 8 people there; needless to say, I was the only Canadian.

It was fun back then because it was a small group of us. As time went on, things got bigger and a group of people came up with 3si. I was at the original gathering where this was thought up. The "3si" name was thought up and I hated that name and still hate, it but that's life (Eric would kill me if he read this). Although I was there when it was first conceived, I never signed up for the 3si organization. Some of the original listserv members weren't too thrilled about an organization so things got a little wierd.

Another listserv poped up where some of the members were active on both and some on one. It was getting to be too much of a pain so I left and have not been back since. I got caught up with other interests and have not really looked for any other sites.

Now I'm back :) This is a great site. I look forward to reading more on what's going on these days. Maybe one of these days I'll update my site ;) It was one of the first Stealth/3000GT sites around back then.

Hey Santo!

Cool.
I remember your site.
It was the only Canadian site I could find when I got my first TT back in '98.

Glad you "found" us.

I wondered whether that site was ever going to get updated :)

I was on a couple of those listserv's, but I did like when 3si was formed -- a bit better 'hub' for all of us, IMO.

Hope to see you at a Gatethering soon...

Hey, welcome back to the virtual 3S world, hehe.

Glad you found the site. Hope you won't hate it 'cause of it's name though ;) .

Thanks for the welcome.

I don't really have a problem with the name. It was a bad "inside" joke that no one here would understand anyway :) Sorry about that.

What this made me do, finally, was join the www.3si.org forum to make a surprise post. Turns out that membership is moderated over there so that's not going to work too well.

Boy does this bring back a lot of memories. I found pictures of all of the previous gatherings and that was a blast. It's too bad I missed the last Gathering in OC, MD. That would have been fun. Maybe next year.

What do you mean that membership is moderated there? And if it was, why wouldn't it work too well?? Do you have any unfinished buisness with the admin or something? LOL

Hi Monopoly,

Yup, thats me :D I work at Seneca and used to park there regularly except about two weeks ago I moved to our York University campus so I'm not there too often anymore.

We should meet up. Maybe we could get a couple of other people out and have a quick couple hour event where we look over each others cars and tell some war stories :D

If you sign up for an account, you can't post until someone accepts you. Sounds like the old "secret" stealth list... but that's another story :D

I was planning on dropping in a couple of posts in strategic locations but if Eric is the one who okays people, he'll know I signed up already. It will spoil the surprise.

I did drop in a post about old times but no one replied. Maybe the old gang doesn't check in too often. There's over 11,000 members over there. That's a sh*t load of people. The old stealth email list had only about 110. I guess times change.

I dont' think you have to wait ti'll someone accepts you, unless they recently changed it. It use to be you just sign up, receive a confirmation e-mail, and you're straight. The only thing diffrent that i knew of was that they no longer took hotmail accounts, or yahoo. Just ISP e-mail addresses.

Hmm, that's weird. And yeah, alot of the croud has changed on 3SI, from the time I signed up anyway. It use to be ALOT more helpfull with all the tech guys on there. It still is, just not as much.
