I just got in last night and was out driving for no more then 2 minutes and a blue STI drives by me. I was like "cool a STI I didn't think they where out yet". The guy does a U-turn and catches up to me so now i know its on. We started from about a 60km/h roll in second gear. He honked 3 times and we took off. Right away I started to pull untill his turbo spooled up then all the way through second he sat with his nose at my rear bumper. In third he moved up slightly when I had to shift put fell back further when he shifted. We shut it down at about 170 or so with him very slowly falling back with him about half a car length behind. I don't know if it had anything done , but its BOV was as loud as mine.

Its a nice car bout I wn't be dropping 50g's on one anytime soon. :D

Nice!

Good to see you back... For good?

I wonder what he had done? Given they are so new, I would doubt he would do much to void the warranty on a 50K+ car.

If he hadn't done much, that sucks that he was able to keep up with you after all you've done.

I finally just got fully BPU'd, and I'll need more before I've even had fun with this yet :(

Hey Shane, i lost your e-mail address.

What are your thoughts on popping in a new DXD Southbend Clutch in my green girl?

I'm not back for good yet, I still have another month and a bit to go on course.

Funny I ran into the guy with the STI again tonight and talked with him. He autocrosses the car profesionaly, so it had a few mods but nothing too big.

My e-mail is turbosarebetter@hotmail.com. I don't realy know anything about the south bend clutch but before you buy anything from the states go to a place called EuroDrive in burlington. They can make you up a clutch for half the price and in canadian dollars. They do realy nice work there. I'll try to find you the #.

I'll get you more details when I get a chance.
SpeedfreakSteve and I just got back from the NG! (15 hours each way).

The rep, Eddie from SB was there. They appear to be awesome clutches.
The TZ series seems to be able to handle multiple launches on 12 second cars!

They have another new one coming out soon, as it is being tested on JeremyG's car.

Stay tuned!

Oh yeah, I toasted my clutch during my 18 runs at the track, and I think I will need a new one soon myself!

I had to dig this thread up haha I remember reading it when you first posted it, and I know a guy in Hamilton that has a STI and I asked him about this a while ago and shure enough it's the same guy you raced, he's from Burlington and living in Hamilton, I know him pretty well, actually myself and him got him in to bikes too so now he joins on rides when we can!!

haha
