View Full Version : 1998 3000gt Sl
I hate the thought of it but i have to sell my baby. I have a pearl white 1998 3000GT SL with 32000miles on it that's right only 32000 no dents dings or scratches immaculate condition. only mods are an HKS air intake and an unorthodox racing underdrive pulley (I still have the old one) removed resonator (still have it). If you are interested I also have a custom sub enclosure and stereo system worth approx $5000 that I will leave in the car or remove for $4000 I am asking $28000 obo. all offers welcome. call 705-722-8004 and ask for Stewart. thanks i'll try and get a pic up soon

So is that 24,000 OBO without the stereo? I've got plenty of stereo stuff so I don't need any more stereo toys. :D
Somewhat interested, hoping to find a black 94+ SL but yours may possibly do...hehehe..
A couple of questions:
1) Is it a 5 spd or auto?
2) color of interior? Leather/cloth? tan or grey/charcol?
3) moonroof yes/no?
4) History of car? 1st/2nd/3rd owner, etc? Clear title, any accidents/etc?
5) Is it that pearl white color or the arctic/glacier white color? The pearl one is almost silver at night.
PS: Interested in a 97 Probe GT with 63,000km as partial trade? Thought I'd ask since it goes for sale when I buy an 3kgt. :D
Ted
The car is pearl white, automatic tan leather interior, with power sunroof and all power options 32000 with the stereo, i am the 2nd owner and i dont think there has been any accidents because the owner gave me full disclosure and didn't mention anything.
No trades unless you are offering a 94 supra sorry

Damn, sorry, but It would have to be a 5spd for me.
Ted
OK now I am desperate to off load my car I have to put a down payment on a house ASAP so any reasonable offer is welcome.
You are looking at a real steal due to my situation please reply.
thanks!
I find myself drowning in debt more and more every day, if anyone wants to buy my car i'll sell it for $22000 or $25000 with my stereo. Otherwise I'm thinking of crashing it and collecting on the insurance money, which would probably reduce me to tears as I love this car but with a new house one must make sacrafices. hope someone is ready to buy. hope it goes to a good home.
Why do you have a stealth front end on the car?? Was the front bumper cover previously damaged??

Hmm....earlier pics didn't have the Stealth bumper???
The reason your having trouble selling it is the automatic I'm assuming. If it was a 5spd I most likely would have bought it 3 months ago.

Just realized- I thought the Stealth bumper wouldn't fit with 3K headlights??? Or are those Stealth headlights that have been painted inside????
Ted
the 3000GT headlights and stealth head lights are pretty much identical in size and shape. The only thing that are diffrent are the turn signals. In the pre 99's, the turn signal was apart from the headlight, where the stealth one is stuck to the headlight.
He just put stealth turn signals to fit the bumper.

Then how come the 99 headlights won't fit with the pre-99 bumpers? The 99 3K headlights are identical to the 94-96 Stealth headlights in shape/size, just 'bubbled' inside (and the glass/lexan thing).
My understanding is that the 3K headlights curve differently at the bottom than Stealth ones. This was discussed on 3si a number of times and the last time it happened someone even posted pictures I believe.

are you saying in the 94-96 stealths the turn sig and the headlight were ine piece?
I didn't think they were
also the 99 type the sigs are not attached either are they? I thought the only diff between the 2g 3k and the 2g stealth lights were that the stealths lights were all black instead of being body coloured
again I thought the 99 lights were the same except they all had a black background and they had contoured progectors(on the top)

Nope, turn signals are seperate from headlights, not saying anything about those.
The headlights themselves are slightly different between each model for 2nd gens:
94-98 3000GT are different from 94-96 Stealth in physical shape. It's very minor, but it leaves a small gap at the bottom if you use Stealth headlights on a 3000GT bumper (or was it vica versa?).
The 1999 3000GT headlights are shaped differently than the 94-98 3000GT headlights. They are shaped like the 94-96 Stealth headlights. That's why they say you need to change the headlights if you get a 99 bumper. Also the reason some people go the 'cheap' route and get 94-96 Stealth headlights (which aren't bubbled inside like the 99 3k ones but do fit properly).
Trying to find the thread with the pictures in it on 3si using search right now in another browser window...

wait I remember this pic I got.... it looks tlke the stralth light goes to a point in the bot right, ang the bot right of the 3k is curved, but I gust went out and had a look at the car in da garage and I think it is only the 3k bumper makin it seem that way, by look in at my light I think it is possible they are the same, I guess sometime this summer when I park next to Shaunas car this summer I'll have to have a closer inspection!!! lol

Say, doesn't it have a Stealth bumper on it....?? :D
Ted
Ok, let me try this again. In NONE of the gens, were the headlights and signals attached to each other, they were always seperate. However, in the 94-96 stealth, and in the 99 3000, the turn signal was up against the headlight. Whereas in the 94-98 3000's, it was apart from the headlight.

Err..correct. However, I don't understand where anyone ever disputed this?
It's the headlights themselves that are different. 94-98 3000GT headlights are same, 99 3000GT and 94-96 Stealth headlights are same. However, the two groups are slightly different in shape (one is rounded at the bottom, other goes straight). It is very noticable if you're picky on details as there will be a gap between the bumper and headlight if you mix/match (or not fit at all).

Hehe....
That brings up a good question- How come when I click on the link in the email that's supposed to take me to the latest unread post it always takes me to the bottom of page 1 of the thread (can't seem to find pages > 1 ?). Works on 3si.org but not here. Same VB version right?
Ted
What do you mean? LIke when you get the e-mail notification, it always sends you to page 1?? Hmmm, now that you mention it, i just noticed that too. I'll check the board settings, i probably didn't set it in there, hehe. THanks!
thanks for hijacking my post, lol that's ok. so do you guys wanna buy my car or just talk about it, personally i would prefer you buy it but heh what do I know!
