So I've been looking at products to lower my suspension and am thinking of getting some Ground Control Coil Overs. I didn't want to spend too much money, wanted the drop to be adjustable and wanted to retain my ECS (FWD). This seemed to be the only product for my needs.
Anyone out there using these?
If so, what are your thoughts on them in reference to ride, installation, adjustment, did you need camber kit for proper alignment, how far did you drop, etc.
Thanks for any help you can give me!

Never been to ETD.
For tires and suspension stuff, I've been going to Rob's Firestone (Yonge St., just north of Mulock) for years. I don't know if his prices are the best, but they are always competitive with online prices and he has always done great work. Any warrenty issues are handled quickly and professionally.
For general repairs, I've been going to Ian's Auto (on Yonge, just south of Rob's) for years as well. He has always given me great service. Always gives me options on repairs based on how much I want to spend. He's even tried to talk me out of expensive repairs now and then.
I haven't done any serious mods to the Stealth yet. If RIPP MODs in the US comes out with a supercharger for the DOHC soon, I'm thinking of getting some work done at Magnus Motorsports in Woodbridge. They are an authorized dealer for RIPPs and work mostly on DSMs. I think a couple of guys here have used them.

So, I ended up going with the Ground Controls. Also got the control arms from 3SX. Expensive, but at least they were on sale when I ordered them.
Alignment was perfect when the install was done.
Dropped 1.5", from 27.5" to 26".
The ride is a touch rougher, but not much. Still finding out what I will bottom out on (so far a couple of railway crossings, guess I'll have to learn to slow down for those). Other than that, no problems. No weird sounds, no bounce that some people have complained about. Just a little rougher ride, improved handling in the corners and better looks!:)

The guys that installed it said that the camber was off without the control arms when they dropped it 1.5". The stock adjustments weren't enough. Then it took them forever to get the old control arms off. They were pretty much welded on with rust...

I went with Tein coil overs, i purchased them from JRP performance in brampton. Not cheap about 3000.00 then it turns out Tein didn't make a kit for the DOHC NA lol so the kit I bought is for an AWD 3000gt (welcome to japanise thread). ETD removed the bushings in the coilovers and I had to order 3 inch lower springs for the rear because even at full drop it looked the same as stock. This kit dropped the car 4 1/2 inches. Heres the down fall, theres no give at all in the springs and i have banged my head off the roof a few times lol but it looks cool, isn't that all that matters lol. handles amazing. but my rear camber is out huge, so im going to have to get the rear control arms. Actually I think im the only DOHC NA with the Teins and thinking for this amount of drop and price i should of went with air bags.

JRP is the biggest rip-off in Canada. I thought everyone knew that. Well take this as a warning, and never buy from there again, because the exact same coil-overs are nearly half the price at $1499 USD at 3SXperformance.
I know this thread is old, but a new thread linked to it and i just read it for the first time.
JRP is know as Jiant RiPp-off

Yes.

These baby's are adjustable. I think you can drop them up to 3". I just went for a 1.5" drop and find it a nice comprimise between ride and look.

The Intrax springs that I sell will give you about the same drop, and you can get ECS and non-ECS versions. The prices on my website are cheaper than all 3S shops. ;)

The shop that installed mine checked with their distributers and couldn't match 3SX's price.
With 3SX you'll have to pay GST and PST as well as brokerage fees. The fees will be around $60 if they ship by UPS, which they usually do to Canada. If you're not in a hurry, ask them to ship by USPS (United States Postal Service). The brokerage fees will be a lot less.
Also, if you look around websites in the States and find a lower price, 3SX will try to match it.

how much drop can u get with 18's
StealthFan

Rim size is irrelavent, as the diameter of the tire will always be the same (the larger you make your rims, the smaller the sidewalls of the tires should get). In other words, if your tires sit 22" high with 16" rims, they should still sit 22" high with 18" rims.
I was looking at my Ground Controls other day when I had the wheels off. They are set near the top of their adjustablity and I get a 1.5" drop. They could still drop another 3", although the tires would probably be scraping on the wheelwells...

how much do u think u can go without scraping?

With the 1.5" drop, I find I have to slow down for railway crossings and driveway curbs. Right now there is about a 1.25" gap between the wheel and the lip of the fender, so I guess it all depends how clearance you are willing to live with. If you want only a .25" gap, you can drop it 2.5" from stock height...

What do you mean if the coilovers go 4.5"?
On a non-Turbo Stealth... the difference in lowering height between Intrax and Ground Controls is less than 1/16th of an inch.

I thought the coilovers go up to sorry 3 inches. ( cause I want to raise it for the winter)
Anyone have pics of what the car looks like with intrax?
