Not sure how fast this would sell. Just a few days ago a 1994 Stealth RT/TT sold for $12,000. :p
yup this might be a tuffy...
so how many miles on it?
113000 km .
And you know I think were selling ourselves short. I remember a story about a guy in london that single handledly sold dozens of unpopular jaguars that he never owned. He placed adds for these car and when someone called the car was always sold, and for top dollar. When he finally put his car up for sale he got full price for it because he had created a market for it.
There are perhaps less than 250 RT TT Stealths in Canada. They are worth top dollar.

creating a market, eh?
well, don't think the used car dealers don't know this trick already
they can afford to do this because they have images of many cars whether sellable or not and can play this game with cars that were sold in the past and no longer in existence! think about that advantage!
that dude that did the scam probably worked for a used car dealer in order to get access to other car info or simply did some photo hunting, took a peek at VINs, etc, and voila imaginary inventory not in HIS hands for sale (other peoples inventory).

First of all.. the guy selling the 94 Stealth RT/TT was legit. He's known on the 3si boards.
Secondy.. ARE YOU HIGH?
What makes you think there's only 250 RT TT Stealths in Canada? There's gotta be at least that many in the Greater Toronto area alone.
Their were 1127 RT TT's sold in Canada, and an estimated 100 additional Stealth RT TT's were imported here from the US as well.

Being rare to Canada doesn't add much to a cars value.
My car (3000GT) is about 600 times more rare than yours in Canada and its worth about the same as it would be to buy one in the States.
I must be tough living in the centre of the known universe, The GTA. However there are other areas of this Geart country ,Canada that exist. For starters Manitoba. A Stealth TT sell from 18000 to one that sold for 36000. Also acording to MPI which translates to Manitoba Public Isurance there are currently LESS THAN 20 Stealth TT in that province. Saskatchewan has LESS again. Have you heard of the Maritime Provinces? Have you been watching the Auto Traders there? Very few Stealth TT come up for sale at all. HHMMM
Alberta has quit a few but DEFINITLY LESS THAN 75 units, because I talked to the dealers in Calgary and Edmonton there before I purchased. Afterall they would know the numbers. And the prices there average about 20000 with one unit going for 49000! One piece of shit Stealth TT I looked at sold for 25500, broken windshield, bald tires, chipped rims and all kinds of parking rash.
Here where I live in an area 100 TIMES the size of the GTA there are only 3 TTs that I know of.
So 250 units in Canada, maybe less because accidents do happen, I think so.
If your only knowledge is from living in your own back yard so be it but another universe dose exist. Its the ROTC. The Rest Of CANADA.
Am I stoned? No, but at least I am not My Own Best form of birth control.
My Rant and thank you

The number of TT Stealths outside of Ontario and Quebec isn't relevant at all to how many there is in Canada. There's probably 2 vipers in Manitoba.. but hundreds in Ontario... and I know that for a fact since I've been to a Viper gathering at Mosport.
By far most TT Stealth's in Canada were sold in Ontario and many in Quebec too. And you're saying the out of 1127, plus the 100 or so imported.. that about 900 are no longer on the road. Thats crazy... try to find a R/T TT at an auto wrecker... you won't easily... VERY hard to find.

Without getting involved in the volley :), Ya, the price is a wee bit too high. But you will figure that out when it is still sitting on your driveway two months from now.
All this ontario/quebec talk reminded me that my car is originally from quebec, so i did a quick search:
Description : DODGE STEALTH 1994, 123,000 kms, RT Twin Turbo, rouge, manuel, , tout équipé , balance garantie mai 2004, remisé en hiver, $19,000 (418) 546-1142 .
Description : DODGE STEALTH 1995, 60,000 km, manuelle 6 vit., twin- turbo, tout équipé, bost controleur, 400 HP, toujours bien entretenue facture à l'appuie, $20,000 nég., tél. : (418) 827-8003 (418) 955-7394.
(these links usually never work but this is where i got it.)
http://www.canadatrader.com/trader/result/result.asp?rubno=4000&r=%271011%27&sid=&issr=1&yfr=0&yto=0&kfr=0&kto=0&pfr=0&pto=0&dm=1&dp=8&mk=DODGE&md=STEALTH&kw=&or=0&oby=7&pg=2
I think the 250 number is highly plausible. 1127 cars OVER 10 years ago, could dwindle to that. They are sports cars, after all, and they do get smashed up, written off , especially in the first few years of the model, mostly thanks to high replacement costs of parts -yes, thats you Mitsu. As to having a hard time finding them in a junk yard, re-read the numbers again, then compare to numbers for a "typical" family car or minivan, and it will be clear.
However, social factors have to be considered in establishign market value. Fact is, there just arent that many people in places like NF, SK, MB, that could justify, or afford an expensive, used sports car. So, take your chances with putting up the price there, but if you can afford the wait, go for it. Theres one born every minute.
But all in all, I think Beekay;'s price of $12k for a good condition, high mileage 2nd gen is about right, esp. now that sports car season is over, and that he was highly motivated to sell. If I didnt have to fix up a few thigns on my car before I could sell, I would have bought his and sole mine, just to have a lowermileage vehicle and 6 spd.
But what concerns me more on the value of our cars is the recent flooding of the sales market on them. It seems everywhere I look, I see someone dumping theirs. This will definitely have a detrimental impact on the value as the market gets over saturated.

On the more positive side
There are far more than 250 TT in Canada
Why take Manitobas number and expand that to represent canada??? Seems a little narrow minded to me.
I would be very surprised to see someone get $36K for anything but a spyder and even then?? But, who knows
I know that you could have mine for $13,999 for the month of September and its in great shape

There has got to be more than 250. I know how rare they are, cause being an owner, you take notice whenever you see another on, which is a rare event indeed, however 250 of 1227 is only 20%.
Would you think that 80% of all the cars have been destroyed in 12 years? Seems pretty high to me, but i guess we will never know the actual stats.

also u got to remember this isnt a good time to sell your car.
I would store it over the winter and sell it for more in the spring.
a lot of people dont drive there stealthTT's in the wintertime so they dont want to buy a car and then have to store it immediately after buying.

Just for fun I asked my aunt.. she's an insurance broker. She found that Pilot Insurance has around 140 R/T TT's registered in Ontario.
That's just one insurance company! There's 3 other big ones in Ontario, so they probably have around the same. So guessing conservatively.. my aunt said that there's probably at least 500 R/T TTs registered in Ontario alone.
On a sidenote... that one insurance company has 6 3000GT's registered in Ontario which also includes mine.
That being said...the most current book values in Canada for a 94 TT are.....(deep breath)...between 10,800 and 13,700.
Amazing how far off the book vals are from what the market seems to bear. However, I would think long and hard before paying double book value for any car.
