Ok I read it through and apparently the finished pipes will look better those are just prototypes.

Nice! That front mount looks more like it was designed for our cars, rather than using big Skyline and generic racing cores. Plus, a single out is a much better idea instead of the normal dual outs. Once you go front mount, there should be no need for a y-pipe anymore. Plus, if you switch to the LS1 maf setup for blow-through, the flow would be much improved, and you can have filters on each turbo and remove all that useless plastic intake piping (especially the awful T-pipe) :). I hope they don't make these too soon though, or I'm gonna be deep in debt :D.
eheh looks like you will be cuz they are coming soon lol

ugh soo tempting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
im actually thinking of a bank loan for this! hey u guys think it would be easy to install?
I'm sure it cant be that hard to install... I mean it's just a bunch of pipes, and an IC. It might be a pain to take everything off and put it all back on but hey it's still fun! Oh and make sure you cover all the holes with some cloth heheh
I'm too lazy to take a read of that entire thread. What's the status of those? Any performance results from the prototypes?
If they're that cheap and good, maybe us Canucks can organize a group buy.
just check out the pics, It's close to being finished, they're just testing now. They are expecting results from dyno soon.
production should start November
When it comes to this whole Turbo thing I'm not too clear on something. Having a larger intercooler cools more air. Now when you upgrade your intercooler, are larger turbos just a natural upgrade as well? Or another way of looking at it, would the stock turbos receive little benefit from a larger intercooler?

well that FMIC is very large for the 9b's...i think it would be too large for the stock T's and there wouldnt be any HP gains so i wouldnt bother.
but for bigger turbos like two 13G hybrids or 15G's it would be perrrfect!:)

They have front mount intercoolers for DSM cars that are around $1000 CDN, and they would supposedly fit our cars. The only problem is making the hoses all fit, and making the brackets. That might be an alternative to look into. The Canada DSM board has info on it somewhere.

Which one would you go for?
I would think that the only use for the high $900 one would be for 99 front ends. Have you seen how much of an opening we actually have in the front of a first gen? I would say its no more than 5 inches high. (no wonder we have such hot engines  ) Would you cut out that horizontal middle slat in the front intake opening?
I am sure the $700 would be a much better use of space for most of us. They say that is fine for stock or mildly upgraded turbos somewhere in that thread... $700 just seems awfully low for the core, piping, couplers and clamps all ready to drop in. Hope it works out for that price. I'd go for it. :)

Ya thats what im talking about. usually just the core is about that much. You would have to drop another grand to get it all plumbed from BOTH turbos, to a Dual intake core, then up and back to the TB. Plus those silicone couplers are like $30 each and you would need half a dozen, plus clamps... I am just a little worried that to get the price so low, the build might be chinsy, with a cheap parts and slapped together fittment. I am anxious to see some reviews, and really hope its put together well and shows good gains. If so, this guy is going to sell a million!

This is the sizing issue im talking about. seems like a real waste of half the surface area doesnt it?

Thats bad news then. I have the opportunity to buy a barely used FMIC from a DSM for $250 CDN right now! :(
for 900 bucks you cant complain... wvwn if the whole thing was blocked, it'll out flow your stockers by far and cool a lot more! the goal was to make a cheap FMIC kit and thats what he did. Obviously he couldn't use all of the top of the line parts cuz it would cost too much. And I'm sure he knew he would sel a million of these which would make production that much cheaper...
whatevr I think it's a good deal no matter what way you look at it:)

FMICS usually cause overheating problems in our already hot-temp cars... this intercooler would be a waste unless you get some air on the top half of the intercooler.... which doesn't look likely on 2nd gens but far worse on 1st gens...:(
