Hey guys...
this mostly goes out to the guys that were at the meet in Innisfail last year.... remember Warren and i went in the Autocross there? Well i was the lone Stealth in it this year and came out on top! Was pretty sweet, i beat that fast ass Fiero (other guys don t laugh, that thing is on NAWS and does wheelies...no lie:) The 427 Cobra was in it again (last years winner) as well as a few grand nationals, mustangs, miatas, mr2's, celica think and some other decent cars.... was a lot of fun, I ran a best of 36:11, then there was a tie for second, the 427 and the Fiero both ran 36:21's....
Was a great day with more cars than last year.....

way to go!!
I want to try autox, but the venue here has really rough pavement and it eats tires, not what I have in mind to do really:(

I was thinking about getting into some autocross or Solo II, but i figured our cars are way too big and heavy to be competitive with miatas and MR2's. You won the whole thing, eh?... Maybe i should give it a whirl next summer.

true our cars weigh alot...a whole lot...BUT, with our speed rated tires and front and rear strut bars, they handle quite good... plus the REAL strength is the power we have for the straight parts.... you gotta be careful what course you go on tho...this course was a figure 8 that you went around twice... i ve seen other courses that would be far too tight for a 3S...... But The stealth has a huge advantage with AWD IMO, a lot of the higher HP cars were RWD and had trouble coming out of the corners....the Stealth would slingshot out....it was a blast:)
since the stealth is a replica of the 3000gt, and the 3kgt being a touring car(i think), wouldn't the stealth be very well suited for turns and such??

ya its suited pretty good...weight is its only drawback IMO...she s a real lardass

a lardass is saying it nicely. They are insanely heavy! They sure seem to hold the road nice at high speeds though.

The only time that you are going to appreciate the Stealth's weight is when you crash at high speed. Then you'll be thankful that it is that heavy. And besides, we all crash at some time....
Years ago I found a site that praised Mitsu for making our cars so heavy. It was a collection of the worst crashes imaginable, and how the 3S's girth saved lives. Now if only I could lose a 1,000 pounds until I needed it......:D
CONGRATS Davin for enlightening your unknowing victims!!!

Well, its not really a replica, its a mechanical twin. A replica is made after the fact to reproduce something, where these are the exact same cars, made on the same assembly line, at the same time. Only difference being selected body panels, to set them apart.
Also a 'touring car' is actually not well suited for turns. Touring means basically a 4 seat sporty highway cruiser. for 'touring' the countryside with a bit of pep. (think of any car with Grand Touring ~GT~ badging. they are all kinda crappy 4+ seaters) I would call the 3/S a sports car, as you would never consider its competition to be touring cars (Supra, RX-7, Corvette) Its just that those back seats confuse her and she doesnt really fit into either category.
Wow, i am really nit-picking this morning.... :( Sorry, just bored i guess.

"think of any car with Grand Touring ~GT~ badging. they are all kinda crappy 4+ seaters"
ummm Mustang GT
Shelby GT500
not typical crappy 4 seaters but ya i see what you are saying.... the Term "GT" has been over used

Ummm, actually the mustang GT is the crappy car example i had in mind...
Are you saying a rustang GT is an exception to the junky 4 seater rule? Ever driven one? Whew! Take that solid rear end and creaky plastic interior and badge it a 'GT' and people will think its fast.
And i guess im talking about current usage of the term. not really thinking of the GT350 or 500 or GTO. I guess that is where they made the name relate to performance, so now when they call it a Sunfire GT, it means its a fast one :p

so i guess we are really confused since the Stealth is NOT a "GT" anyway......but rather an "RT"lol.... man they really screwed everyon there eh? The Stealth is Road and Track, and its twin the 3k is a Grand Touring...... Hmmmmmm
BTW....do i think a Mustang is a crappy car? Yes i do.
Do I think its a fast car....yes it is. I hate to break it to you but there are more Rustangs in the 14's, 13's, 12's, 11's, 10's and 9's than ANY 3s ever will be.....Sorry but i don t consider the Mustang a "highway cruiser"...... I more consider it a cheap, POS that one can make very fast....... It maybe sounds like i m defended it...i don t like them.....but thery are hardly slow IMO.....
