so this happened yesterday morning



driving on the highway and smelled a faint sweet smell, noticed steam coming from my hood vents, looked at my temp gauge and it was 3/4 way up.

top rad pipe burst, coolant everywhere. hoping i didn't blow the head gasket or need a new engine. got it towed home and put aside for now. just dropped a lot of money for an upcoming vacation so the car will have to sit.

was looking at doing a combo samco rad pipes+dual core fmic+dnp intake pipes all at once when i have the funds.

alright about time for an update,

replaced the rad pipes with oem units, got the 2nd gen lower rad pipe in case in the future i decide to go with 6spd.

got tired of my hood drawing too much attention+a bitch in the rain and to wash so i traded it for an oem carbon wrapped hood. also wrapped my roof+pillars+sails in matte black. album: http://imgur.com/a/NsUmI . planning on doing the whole car in gloss red.

on the performance front, still tweaking the tune here and there trying to push past my knock limit. she pulls very nicely in track style 1-2-3 pull. i'm confident she has 11s in her.

our local track hired a cheap contractor to redo their lanes and they fucked up big time, 3 months of delays and cancelled events so far. apparently first night open will be aug15 so i won't be able to get timeslips anytime soon.

also the car is also officially up for sale on craigslist cause i need a sensible 4 door commuter

so here's a cool update,
installed 2nd gen sideskirts to complete the conversion then i vinyl wrapped the whole car in gloss red:

the local track is open again, so expect some new 1/4mile times soon

i guess this will be the final update for this car.

ended up selling her about a month ago to a gentleman from south carolina, who flew over and drove it back. it didn't fully hit me until we finally got it across the border and watched it drive off and disappear down the highway. it was a very emotional moment for me and i'm glad i was alone. with the money i received i ended up going on a asia trip and used the rest to buy a 600rr.

i had many ups and downs with this old girl and i hope the new owner appreciates her as much as i did. i could honestly write a whole page about my experience but i think this thread alone tells enough.
