Arrow Alberta Summer 2014 Meet & Cruise

Well the snow seems to have finally melted for good so maybe it's time to see if people are interested in meeting up this summer.

Posting this well in advance so that hopefully everyone has a chance to see it.

If there's enough interest, I think it would be fun to get together to do another cruise. Location/destination will depend on where people live. Last time it was mostly Southern Ab members, but I know that there are a lot of people up around Edmonton as well.

In the past, it's usually been easiest for members meet up locally in Calgary/Edmonton/RD and then have the small groups head out to meet up somewhere central.

Thinking maybe July or August?

As always, everyone is welcome! We usually have a mix of ages and car models etc (half the time I don't even have a running 3s...)
Always a friendly bunch of people and everyone has a good time. Good chance to check out some cars, eat some food, go for a cruise, and chat it up with fellow enthusiasts!

Lemme know who might be interested and from what locations, and we'll try to get something organized

1) surreal - Calgary
2) Shadowfax - Lethbridge
3) ChubbZ - Calgary
4) 95teetee -Drumheller
5)
6)

I'm always interested in these, but I haven't made it out to one in quite some time. Depending on when and where it is, it's a possibility. So put me on the list for now.

I might be in (depends on how much longer my bad clutch actually keeps propelling the car- seems to be getting worse day by day).

Not a bad idea actually; probably a lot easier with some spare hands.
Engine crane is the way to go if possible.
Just need everyone to wear out their clutches at the same time

nah- just normal wear and tear -in fact, in the 9 years I've had my car, I've only tried launching it a few times (although the couple times I actually got it right were pretty freakin' awesome lol).

Still on original oem clutch?
Launches in these cars are definitely awesome!

I discovered that this is the less awesome part about launching though:

Oops! haha

yep, still the original. Fear of breakage is why I rarely launch lol.

Worst thing is there's no one around here I would trust to work on mine (our Chrysler dealership doesn't have any mechanics I would trust to clean the windshield and most guys don't want to deal with the work involved. And I definitely have no interest in doing it myself )

2g drivetrain should be pretty strong. The shaft I snapped was an 18 spline 1g and it was a track launch

At least ya know not to take yours to the dealer haha
Might be worth a day trip to Calgary when you need to get the clutch done.

that's what I expect, just need to find the place to get it done...Platinum did my water pump/timing belt when the pump was leaking six or so years ago.

Yeah I'm not even sure how much I trust the dealers in Calgary really. I guess talk to them and see if they are even comfortable/confident in taking it on. Or try to hunt down Tim when the time comes.

I've had one experience with Platinum Mitsu and it was bad, it was immediately after I bought the car, took it to them to replace the driverside cv axle and was quoted $840, a few weeks later they call me and say its done but "they had trouble fixing it" and charged me $1400, despite being quite angry about it I paid. Ĺooking back I should have said something. Tim is hands down the best man to take your car to if you come to Calgary, why take your car to someone who barely knows the car when theres a guy who doesn't need to see the nuts and bolts on it to know what wrenches he'll need to get the job done.
